A crazy thought

Has anyone ever gone to Ibiza from britain just for a day out,
I know I,d be tempted if Ryanair did 2 flights a day from our local airport, and it would be feasable to do it
if you had a flight about 7am, arrive in Ibiza for 10.30 Ibiza town, you could be on the beach in San An by 11,30,. then you,d maybe leave San An about 6.30 to catch a 9pm flight home
so in theory it would take the same amount of time to get to Ibiza as it would to get to Blackpool from where we live, and I dont which beach Id prefer to go to,
How many people would do that, or is my love of the island bordering on the unhealthy,:D:):):):):):):):):):):)

I know folk who have done Dublin or Edinburgh for a day out but I couldn't do Ibiza I would miss the flight home! :spank: Takes 2.5 hours for me, and I am not a good flyer so I would need a week to recover and prepare for the flight home....or 10 days as it will be this June. If the plane doesnt crash :? :D

I once flew back to the uk from Ibiza for a day to go with my girlfriend for her first pregnancy scan of our son. Left 3 mates in Ibiza at around 10 am with just a passport in my pocket which was cool, got back to Ibiza at around 8pm to find it had been raining all day and my 3 mates were p*ssed as farts, rolling around my lounge floor playing monopoly as they couldn't go outside in the rain!
They had consumed every bit of alcohol in the house and were hammered.

Hey ho, scan went well though!

Have been to Barcelona, Madrid and Prague for just a night out.

Barcelona was funny as at the airport staff with running after me and a mate thinking we had forgotten to pick up our luggage as we had literally the clothes we were wearing and a tooth brush in our pockets!

Barcelona was a quick turn around. Got there around 8pm, and back at the airport at midday.

Both Madrid and Prague got there late afternoon, but flight back not until the following evening so had a chance to see a bit more of the cities than just bars.

If you pick up flights cheap, there is not much difference in price than getting a train across the UK.

I was looking in doing just that in May with Easyjet get the 6am out from Stansted & get the 1800 or 2300 /0100 back.

With online check-in you only need to get to security 40 mins before take off.

Definitely do'able... and even if you overnight it, you don't actually need to book a hotel with an early morning flight home if you go out. Has been done often enough and sometimes the most expensive bit is getting to the airport in UK and back ! Done day-trips to Faro, Nice, Madrid etc. Only thing is once you're there you usually want to stay longer and it's very tempting to bin your return flight and stay on ...

Flights leave at 7 am back to the UK I would do the night of clubbing no hotel on the flight back to the UK. Don't do like I did and miss the flight back:oops: The airport staff are helpful if you miss your flight.

DC10 in a day

I know a friend who flew out on the day of the DC10 closing the flew home after so technically an overnight stay but they didn't sleep... dedication to music and Ibiza at its finest!

I met 2 or 3 groups of people last summer who came out just for one night. Unfortunately these fools seemed to think the best thing to do with their 24 hours on paradise as trawl around the West End. Definitely doable and something I'll probably do this summer!
