The Shapeshifters present nocturnal on Saturday 6th October and Part 3 of 4 exclusive house parties held at Turnmills throughout 2007. After the successful Easter launch party with Martin Solveig and the sell-out summer session with Jon Cutler and Miguel Migs… nocturnal returns with the autumn collection featuring the debonair Dimitri from Paris, alongside an extended 3 Hour Set from residents The Shapeshifters. In T2, the funk turns to filth with Circus talisman Yousef heading south for the night to join Ibiza hero Pete Gooding and rising star Nicole Moudaber for a proper underground workout.

Getting the dashing Dimitri from Paris over is indeed quite a coup. Born in Turkey (to Greek parents), Dimitri has forged an international reputation as a truly French icon… like a bottle of No. 5 or a bag covered in monograms. Confused? Don’t be! For Dimitri (his real name), it all started after school. While his schoolmates were busy with Playmobil, he preferred recording Disco tracks off the radio and tried his hand at musical collage, pretending to be an imaginary radio programmer, taping jingles and remixes here and there. He went onto start NRJ – the top radio station in France, and far from being a one-track disco dude, Dimitri also rubbed shoulders with the fashion world, and worked as director for runway soundtracks (with the ultra-hip Michel Gaubert) for the chic-est of the chic: Chanel, Jean-Paul Gaultier, Hermès and Yves Saint-Laurent. Parallel to this Dimitri remixed hundreds of records for an eclectic mix of artists, including Björk, Etienne Daho, Brand New Heavies, Cheb Khaled, New Order and even Quincy Jones with the unforgettable Soul Bossa Nova. His ‘Playboy Mansion’ compilations and ‘In the House’ mixes for Defected are also some of the biggest selling compilations around and his DJ sets are part of clubbing folklore. Dimitri is quite simply the DISCO KING!!

Taking over from Dimitri will be nocturnal heroes, The Shapeshifters. Nocturnal Groove is off course the duo’s finely established record label, with nocturnal working alongside the imprint as the clubbing off-shoot. Simon & Max have had a pretty mental summer, dividing their time between the studio and their eagerly awaited new album (set for release in early 2008), a packed DJ diary and the ‘live’ stage. This summer saw The Shapeshifters play headline shows at London’s South West Four festival and Global Gathering, where they also hosted their very own nocturnal Stage! Drum n’ Bass gal Jenna G is now a fully-fledged full time band member and her soaring vocals can be heard on the forthcoming single ‘New Day’, which hits the streets on Monday 15th October. Look out for the ‘nocturnal mix’ on the night, as the boys look set to road-test new material to the nocturnal faithful for the very first time!!

Elsewhere, the action continues a short shuffle away in the much-loved T2, where Liverpool comes to London in the shape of Yousef. The cheeky chappy’s Circus night in his hometown is still going strong and with his appearances in the capital few and far between, this is one set not to be missed! Also on the bill is the man who puts the funk into Café Mambo in Ibiza – Pete Gooding, plus newcomer Nicole Mouldaber; promoter extraordinaire and now DJ turned producer!!
