Sunday night - 28th August
Arrived San An around midnight for my fourth trip of the season after a flight in from Gatwick and picking up my hire car. Checked in to Hostal Balearic and headed out to Viva to catch up with the guys there. Made it back to hotel about 1pm Monday. This is the night my hire car decides to suffer a front tyre blowout on the Ronda
. Least said soonest mended ! Moving swiftly on ....
Monday - 29th August
Morning spent at the garages in San An and Opel dealership nr the airport trying to get car tyre replaced & bits mended but no parts on the island. Gave up and figured I'd run it on the spare. Marlboro restocked. F**k sleep. Went wakeboarding at Calo d'es Moro. Off to Yemanja to chill and swim. In to DC-10 for 6.30pm. Stayed until gone 2am. Many Euros spent on Burn .. it's getting pricier in here !!
Circo Loco was carnage
. Totally f***ing great as always. Met loads of new people at DC-10. Spotlight meet-up there with Ibiza virgin Sunnyd just arrived. What a way to start your first trip to Ibiza eh ?!! hehe
Ferd & I tried all night to find each other via texts and failed miserably. Left for late bars in San An with Sunnyd to see the 'other side' - managed Itaca, Tropicana and Hush (they say variety is the spice of life
) and an earlyish night after DC-10 - in bed for kip by 8am .. via Figueretas.
Tuesday 30th August
Up at noon again and pulled it together to get out quite efficiently .. swaped hire car at the airport for another one and "dealt with all the paperwork". Headed off to PK2 at s'Estanyol in my new wheels. Quick snorkel but a little too much churn so water not very clear. Diesel Island brandage in its dying throws of the season - all will be back to normal soon. But great beats.
Picked up Sunnyd from Figueretas (great company) and headed out to Sa Pedrera car park / turning circle with some water and bananas. Looks like someone's taken the sign away.
Loads of cars but reckon they were all at Atlantis. So hiked/climbed up to the very top of the rocks above the Torre where the Hierbas billboard photo was taken from (I think !). Breathtaking view. Es Vedra was looking stunning. Total peace. Complete soul food. Not another soul in sight the whole hike 'till we were almost back at the car 8)8)8). Slight wrong turn led to detour via terraces on the way back ... but we got there in the end !!
Stopped off at Cala Jondal for a swim in front of Blue Marlin to cool down and a peach, banana and orange smoothie at Yemanja. Just about made the sunset at Cala Conta. Sunset Ashram was busy and there were a few dietary needs they couldn't help with. So we headed in to San An and got some much needed food in at Davids. Met up with Sophie_VIP and her partner there. Drink at Pussycat to get to know each other and deliberate the many options for a night out. It didn't take long - we all agreed on Revolution @ Space8) ... via some good old chin-wagging @ Geko (now officially one of my favourite pre-club bars in PDB).
Sunnyd made us all proud by heading out for a messy night @ Space straight from a hike in the Summer heat, swim, dinner and pre-club without even seeing her hotel room. That's the spirit !!
Revolution kicked ass big time. Digweed on in the Discoteca on arrival. Red Box was great relief. Yousef awesome in the Terrace. Hit Coxy's set at 5.50am... 6am closing ? Don't be silly it's Space !! We all stayed together for the evening bar a few fag breaks etc. and didn't lose each other - had a fantastic night, great company and danced myself to shin splints.
Wednesday - travel day from hell 31st August
Staggered out of Space with it still going off, bid farewells and returned to San An to face the music of check-out. Finally got a shower and change. Final morning swim at Calo d'es Moro to keep me awake.
No diesel being sold at service station near the airport, or St Josep. Ended up back in San An to fill up the car and all the way back to the airport. FFS. Packed up my car full of possessions in the multistorey car park at the airport. Clean bill of health this time and a 1pm short flight to Barcelona.
Back at Heathrow by around 6.30pm and this time got the coach home. Good call. Drifting in and out of sleep by now.
Another great trip. Hope to see you again soon, Ibiza.
