My 7th visit to my favourite place on the planet this year, stayed in Playa Den Bossa for the first time with my girlfriend after always staying in San An and the Bay. Ill try not to make this too long.....

Friday 2nd Sept- We emailed the Pandemonium free guestlist while at Manchester Airport before we flew. Landed to completely clear skys and 30 degree sun, jumped on a mini bus which dropped us off outside the Jet complex. We stayed at the Sal Rossa next door to Jet so only had to walk 2 minutes. The hotel itself is lovely, the pool is right on the beach and it was quiet but only 3 minute walk to Bora Bora Beach bar which was perfect for us. Only bad thing I had to say was we were on ground the floor with no view what so ever, we did go and ask to change and was told it was fully booked. After checking in and getting changed we headed out to some spanish place we knew from last year for food and few drinks. Then stocked up on booze and supplys at the supermarket and drank in the room before going to Dc10. We headed there at 1230 and got in free because of the email I sent. Had a good night, saw some friends from back home in there and met aload of randoms aswell. I think Art Department and Tania Vulcano where . 5am we got the disco bus to Playa Den Bossa and brought the randoms we met to our room for a abit of a after session.

Saturday 3rd Sept- Woke up around midday to another completely clear sky which I was happy about as it was forecast to rain. We decided on a long walk down Playa Den Bossa to check out the Ushuaia Beach Hotel, on getting there and trying to walk it to have a nose I was told to get out very rudely by security. So we headed back along the beach to meet friends who had arrived that day at our hotel. On getting back and meeting them on the beach we noticed the programme Embarassing Bodys had set up a tent right outside our hotel on the beach and were filming. We saw Dr Christian( the blonde male dr) who very reluctantly had a photo taking with me . The night time we headed into Ibiza town with our friends and had a Italian which was nice but cant remember the name of it. After a nice meal and few drinks we got a taxi back to Playa Den Bossa and Went to Cafe Ole at space as we had free tickets to get in. Dont remember much about this night as I was a complete mess.

Sunday 4th Sept- After spending alot of the day in bed we awoke to yet again another perfect day. I couldnt believe how hot it was for September. Me and few lads sat round the pool drinking Cider( some of then hadnt slept) while our girlfriends were still in bed. When they all got up we all got ready for We luv @ Space. We all sat around our hotels bar having drinks before heading straight to Space. Again I was ****ed and can only remember seeing Steve Lawler and Laurent Garnier LBS live on the Terrace aswell as having some sunset terrace action listening to bad disco music which I loved , the whole sunset terrace was bouncing. Laurent Garnier is the best dj in the world in my opinion. Seen him loads of times but never at space and he smashed the arse off it.

Monday 5th Sept- This was probably my worst day of the holiday, I was so ill from the first 3 nights partying. I attempted to sort my head out and get ready for circo loco with only my girlfriend and my friend Dan as his girlfriend was too ill so she stayed in with other friends. We headed down to bora bora to sort clubbing essentials out from somebody. After sorting it we headed to Tantra for a few drinks but by this point I was so ill I was shaking and felt a huge desire to be sick so I left my mate and my girlfriend to go and headed back the hotel for a night on my own of being violantly sick. Dont think ive ever been so ill out there in all the times id been going.

Tuesday 6th Sept- After my horrible night in alone I was alot better this day but still not feeling 100% myself. My girlfriend had met a nice couple from Newcastle in Circo Loco so we met them and got a taxi together to San Antonio to catch the sunset, which we just missed!. We went to mambos to see abit of Eric Prydz and have strawberry cocktails, cant remember what they are called but they are lovely( and very expensive). After this we split up from the couple to do our own thing so we headed up along the prom, got a jug of cocktails in pussycat bar then headed towards Bay Bar. We got stopped by two female looky looky women who grabbed our hands and forced a peace of string on both our hands and then demanding money to which I told them where to go. They grabbed my girlfriends arm hard to take the string back that we didnt want and I came very close to throwing my head on her!. We walked away quickly and had a couple of wines in Bay Bar before walking back towards the taxi rank to get the **** out of San An, stopping at burger king on the way. After staying in Playa den Bossa ive now realised how much I hate San An, full of chavs ****hole that only draw is the sunset bars.

Wednesday- Was feeling back to my best this day after a good nights sleep without no hangover. So had a good days sunbathing by the pool with our friends and had food at the hotel bar which was lovely and cheap. This was the night my girlfriend had been waiting for as she loves Trance. And it was an Armin Van Buuren state of trance night special aswell. So we went for Sissis restaurant and I had what was probably the nicest steak ive ever eaten!. After a nice feed we went to cocos bar for drinks and to sort our tickets off some guy there and get more clubbing essentials. Me and my girlfriend then got some drinks and went down the beach by bora bora to for pre drinks. Met an argentinian couple on the beach who we stayed with then headed to space for BE. Cant remember the lineup to be honest I know rank one where on there somewhere but we were there for Armin and he didnt disapoint!. Had such a good night full of moments with my girlfriend with our hands in the air. They were smashing the ice cannon all over us and made loads of good videos. Afterwards went back to our hotel with friends for drinks and afterparty fun. Best night of the holiday and im not a huge trance fan.

Thursday- Another beautifull day but we were both fragile so we headed down to bora bora to recover on the beach( no better place to feel fragile and recover) which I kept reminding my girlfriend everytime she moaned how ill she was. We put ourselves on the guestlist on facebook for Kehakuma as the lineup was unbelievable, Seth Troxer, Clive Henry, Art Department to name a few. After meeting up with the couple for argentina for couple of hours we got ready and went to the restaurant thats party of the jet complex. I had streak again which was horrible, no taste whatsoever, cold chips and salad that tasted funny and it was more expensive than Sissis . Me and my girlfriend we both taking turns to run the toilet and be sick( not cause of the food, because the week had caught up with us) so we both decided to give space a miss(which I was gutted about ) but our bodys were saying no chance. So back to the room it was and an early night.

Friday- Our last day and after our early night we were up bright and early, had a full english in our hotel and lay by the pool for yet another lovely day. We had till 4.30pm before we got picked up so we spent the day just catching our last bit of sun.

All in ALL- My Favourite time out of 7 on the Island although I did have two regrets about not doing circo loco and kehakuma but im only human and I needed to give my body rests otherwise I would of been a scatty mess every single day. A weeks not long enough, gonna do 10 days around the same time next year and ill always stay in Playa Den Bossa from now on, it blows San Antonio away. So many dickheads in San An its untrue. Didnt see any in PDB.

Thanks if anybody took the time to read this, Was abit long but got carried away onc e I started haha. Counting down the days until Ibiza 2012 already. Everytime I look at my pictures I could cry! Love the place so much!! id live there in a shot if I had the money!

Good review mate and it's funny you mentioned about the lucky lucky women and the bracelet because the exact same thing happened to me last year, just past Itaca. When I tried to resist the woman shouted "do you not like black people!?!?" so I just caved in and gave her 10 euro before putting the bracelet in the nearest bin:lol: Needless to say my mates all found it hilarious!

If you read my review below it seems you went practically the same time as me and my biggest regret was probably not going to A State of Trance @ Space but it was our last night and had run out of money by that point! Glad to hear it was good enough to please even someone who isn't into their trance though:)

It was our own fault for giving them any time of day to be honest but as soon as she started putting it on us I was onto they were up to something so I said straight away im not giving you any money for this. They just ignored me and carried on putting it on and said they were preying for us the cheeky bastards.
I dont go on youtube, its a shame you cant put vids up on here as I got some brilliant ones of Armin and the ice cannon going off.

Sounds like you really enjoyed it - despite seemingly 'being sick' a fair amount .. :!: Do you think it was the food ? ;)

Did you mean to put some thoughts down re Tania Vulcano & Art Department at Pandemonium ? It kind of stops short on Friday round there - would be great to know what you thought of them :)

Laurent Garnier LBS sounds great - got a text message from someone who was there saying how good it was !

Shame you had those problems in San An - I stay there most trips and hardly ever have any grief from anyone or see anything nasty - only nastiness/violent behaviour I saw this year was at Bora Bora and in Platja d'en Bossa. Then again, I don't really hang around either much in the daytime ! Think it's the luck of the draw to be fair.

Think it's a bit of a generalization to call San An a full of chavs ****-hole ... at times I've felt PDB was a full of w***ers tourist ghetto - but that snapshot impression can change if you go to the right places.

Where's a 'like' button when you need one.

Couldn´t agree more regarding Laurent Garnier. I had probably my best music experience ever that night, the guy is a genius. I started crying on the flight home going through my videos from his set. That´s how good it was! Can´t wait to hear him again.

and the exact thing happened to me with those look looky women on the strip by itaca, they dont leave u alone like the look looky men, they'll keep hold of u til u give them money, best thing to do is walk on the beach when u see them, they;re not hard to miss.

.

To be honest I didnt once go up to the dj box all night to see who was playing. All I know was the music was quality all night. It seemed abit mad being in dc10 and the terrace being closed. Although alot of people were there there was alot of room to dance which I enjoyed.

Glad it's not just me that has to admit that a grip of a woman was too much for me:lol:

Great review mate, but thank God some people are sticking up for San An. Going to Ibiza for the 1st time on Saturday and staying in San An, hopefully we'll be staying pretty clear of the West End and wont have any trouble.

The West End is no worse than any major UK city centre on a Saturday night. Don't worry & go see for yourself.. It's can actually be pretty amusing sometimes to see people letting it all hang out like that - and you do see some incredible sights.

Even been driving a hire car right into and through the thick of it and parking on the back streets regularly for donkeys without ever once having a problem. I reckon sometimes people (not all .. just maybe some ...) feel a bit threatened by it - but you've just got regular people having fun the way they like to have fun (granted a bit of rowdiness late on here and there, just be aware and leave if there's any trouble). Ibiza would not be Ibiza without San An ;). Relax and enjoy Ibiza in all its shades of colour !

I've been to San An just gone 14 times, take the West End with a pinch of salt, walk around with a smile. Bit of a gauntlet avoiding non-bibbed reps, and looky-looky men that think your name is Charlie.

We going to be seeing you on tv sometime soon?

I didnt go in a get seen by a doctor just had a pick with him on the beach. We were sitting on the beach right next to filming and the camera was going on us like. Supposed to be getting aired January so ill be defo looking out for myself on it.

Funny moment of the holiday - Me and my friend walking into the tent after breakfeast and few pints and me saying to the women " excuse me, I have a problem which is quite embarraring to be honest and I want to get it looked at" on the woman asking what was up I pulled down my glasses and said " Its my pupils, since Ive been here they are like binlids and I dont know why" . The woman took it well and started laughing and said " I think thats somethin to do with what you have been taking out here" :p
