Day 1 (Sun)
Flew from Manchester airport at 4pm-ish, pretty much on time, props to Jet2!
We (Myself & Laura) left Eivissa airport at around 8pm and jumped on the transfer bus which took us all around the bloody island before dropping us off at our hotel at around 9:30pm.
We chucked our cases in and head straight out to meet up with a few mates who were on the last day of a stag do.
We met them at plastik and to be fair they looked absolutely ruined after 4 days of very little food or sleep, they'd been on Bora Bora beach all day finishing there holiday with a bang!
When they left we headed to the West End to get suitabley drunk.
Day 2 (Mon)
Headed to Pussycat to get our DC10 tickets and jumped in a taxi to the club at about 5pm. When we arrived I was surprised at how few people were there (about 10 people in the dark room and 30 or so in the red room). We chilled outside for an hour or so drinking beer and the odd vodka lemon. By about 7pm the club was pretty busy and things go a bit hazy from here. All I really remember was going mental in the red room and some guy dressed as a Chinese man with an empty bowl and a pair of chopsticks wandering around.
We left DC10 at abut 11pm and headed back to San Antonio to get our Cocoon Tickets for some reason. Once we procured these we had a few drinks then headed off to Amnesia for just after 1am. Like DC10 we arrived a bit too early and the club was pretty empty when we got there. From what I remember it filled up pretty quickly and by 2:30 it was fairly busy.
The last time we went to Cocoon was in 2008 and it was absolutely rammed, so packed you could hardly move. This time it was much less busy, a lot better in a way but it didn't really seem to get going. Due to our 11 hour session and us being jibbering wrecks we decided to leave at 4am which in hindsight I'm disappointed about because we didn't get to see Sven.
Day 3 (Tue)
Some much needed recovery time throughout the day, slept for a good few hours on the beach and drank gallons of water.
Laura's cousin Matt was arriving today so we headed off to Plastik to meet him.
When he turned up he had some bad news, 2 of the lads that he came with had had an accident. They had been drinking for most of the day and 2 of them decided it would be a good idea to see if they could jump off the walkway round past Kanya and clear the rocks landing in the sea. Unfortunately it didn't go to plan and they both landed on the rocks, one of them broke his ankle and the other had massive gashes in his legs which meant an ambulance had to take them to the medical centre near Eden.
Later that night we hit the west end with Matt and about 12 others from back home which was pretty cool.
Day 4 (Wed)
After another day recovering on the beach we headed to the west end to meet everyone then at 1am hit Reclaim the Dancefloor @ Eden to see Annie Mac, Major Lazer and Fake Blood. As with Monday we arrived at the club a bit too early and it took a good hour and a half to fill up properly but once it did it was quality.
Annie Mac played some quality tunes followed by Major Lazer (well one half of them I think) who played their usual style of Electro House/Reggae/Dancehall mashup stuff which was superb. After this came Fake Blood who was the main person that we were here to see, I remember being left a little disappointed by him and left before the end. I think mainly because he didn't play any of the tunes that he is known for, or maybe my head was just mashed?
Day 5 (Thu)
I felt the drinking and stuff catching up with me here but battled on and went to Cream @ Amnesia with all of the people from back home. Glad I went but the first thing that him me as soon as I went it was how busy it was! Miles busier than Coccon on Monday but to be honest this was fully expected so it wasn't a surprise.
The 2 lads who jumped on the rocks decided it would be worth trying to come to this, one was in a wheelchair and the other had bandages on his legs, they stayed for ten minutes then realised their mistake, far to many people!!
When we got in Eric Prydz was playing in the main room and was pretty good, can't remember who was on in the terrace. After an hour or 2 Deadmau5 came on in the Terrace so we tried to push through, absolutely no chance! It took about 20 mins to get to the top of the ramp thing so we just turned back and listened to the rest of Prydz before Laidback Luke came on. Laidback Luke was genrally good but he kept messing around with the tracks which did my head in a bit.
We left at about 5:30am, lightweights!
Day 6 (Fri)
Friday was a bit of a write off due to Cream the night before so we decided not to go clubbing, instead me and Laura went to see the Sunset, then walked to Kanya and had a bottle of red wine like the distinguished civilised people we are.
After this we walked back past Mambo to the Sushi place (Kama Sushi) where we had some really nice cocktails, 2 for 10e, I had a watermelon one and Laura had a strawberry one, loads of fresh fruit mashed up in them, bloody lovely!
Day 7 (Sat)
Saturday we were as fresh as daisies so started drinking at 12pm.
Bottle of cheapo vodka from the shop with a big bottle of Fanta Lemon! We sat on the beach for 3 hours drinking it and were pretty hammered when we finished.
At 3pm we went to get ready for the Zoo project.
Once ready headed down to reception to book a taxi, where we met 6 girls from Surrey. After chatting we discovered they were also going to the Zoo project we shared a taxi with them and stayed with them for the rest of the day, that made 7 females and one male, can't be bad! The taxi took about ten minutes to get there and cost about 10 euros.
Zoo project was amazing! Drinks were reasonably priced too, £15 euros for a big jug of Sangria, so we ended up having about 3 of these between me and Laura.
We danced about in the seal pit for a few hours which was packed out! Then went to one of the other rooms. Most of the day is a bit of a blur due to the large of amounts of alcohol we had consumed. We left at 11:30, half an hour before closing and jumped on the free bus back to San An which took about ten minutes.
After this we made the mistake of heading to the west end and drank more!
Day 8 (Sun)
HANGOVER OF DEATH!!!
Slept for ages on the beach and woke in a rather confused state!
Later on we went to watch the sunset and did a bottle of red at Kanya followed by some lovely Sushi & Champagne at Kama Sushi, also another of the gorgeous cocktails, it would be rude not to after all.
Day 9 (Mon)
Monday came along with the realisation that we only had 2 nights left, was up for doing DC10 and Cocoon again but the money situation was now dire and I had to start waxing the credit card, also the girls we met were going to Tiesto so decided to go there with them.
We had several drinks then went to get the bus to Privilege. The queue was huge and we soon realised that we weren't going to get on it so went to the Arenal hotel to ask them for a taxi, they said at this time no chance! So off to the taxi rank, again the queue was pretty big but it went down quite quickly. We arrived at Privilege at around 2am and it was rammed! Was a bit of a nightmare to get a good spot but after a bit of pushing and shoving we made it onto the raised platform near to the front.
To be fair if you are into that sort of music going to see Tiesto would be quite an experience with amazing visuals and breathtaking trapeze acts etc. I didn't enjoy the night as much as any of the others due to the music, it was basically pop music with the odd trance track thrown in. The club, sound and visuals made up for the music though and I had a decent night. I think we left at about 5am.
Day 10 (Tue)
Once the sun had gone down we headed off to Ibiza rocks to see the mighty Pendulum. We got there at about 8:30, got some beers for 5e then sat down for a bit and waited for Sub Focus to come on. When they started to play we got a nice spot to the right of the stage where we could see everything. Sub Focus were pretty good playing some quality tunes like Rock it which they started with I think.
After Sub Focus a DJ came on for a bit, Doorly I think, then it was Pendulums turn.
I have never seen Pendulum live before, only DJ sets, gotta say I was majorly impressed. Their performance had so much energy and the crowd were going mental! One of the highlights for us was when they dropped Tarantula.
Once Pendulum had finished the DJ announced that he would be playing music for the next half an hour, I guess this was to stop everyone leaving at the same time.
Last year when we went to see Dizzee Rascal at Ibiza rocks it took us about 40 minutes to get out and were almost crushed! This year it took us ten minutes, nice and easy.
Overall we had an immense time in Ibiza but found it a struggle this year to keep up, dunno if that's an age thing or because for a lot of the holiday there was only 2 of us so it was easy to bottle it and chill at the sunset rather than get motivated to go out. Still, we did 7 clubs in 10 nights which isn't bad.
The hotel was spot on, rooms cleaned and towels changed everyday, friendly helpful staff and pretty good food. Only downside no aircon but we hired a powerful fan at 2e a day.
A few of my pictures are here, they were taken on my camera phone so the quality isn't great.
I think were going to try a villa holiday next year if we can get enough people together.
