So after our first visit, http://www.spotlight-forums.com/showthread.php?t=75415, we planned to return to Space for We Love.
Plans were hatched as soon as we returned in June, flights and hotels booked. We even managed to persuade a couple of mates to come along for the ride this time.
36 hours is never going to lead to any great explorations of the island, that's for another time. This was a pure clubbing trip. 2 nights, 2 clubs, mayhem J

Flying out of Bristol @ 5.30 Saturday night, the flight was pretty raucous, full of youngsters who looked like they off on their first holiday abroad. Landing on time, we went straight through arrivals to the taxi queue. After no time at all, we were checked in at the Jabeque and off into PdB to find some gear. Wandering down the main drag, my companion spotted someone who he had dealt with a few years previously. Sorted out pretty quickly, it was back to the hotel for pre-club drinks.
On route to PdB we had managed to pick up some cheap entry wristbands to Sankeys. Having read all the reviews on here, I was determined not to miss out on going.
So off we trotted just after midnight, on arrival we were waved straight through without paying. J Result. It was quiet on entry, so straight up to the terrace for a couple of drinks before it got busy. In no time at all the dancefloor was packed with a great up for it crowd and the music was rocking. We settled into a spot not too far from the stairs so we could escape for breaks easily and whenever we wanted. The whole night was spent dancing our asses off, going upstairs for a smoke, chatting to randoms, back downstairs etc etc. The gear procured earlier in the evening took effect and the group splintered and the wandering ensued. At one point we lost one of the group for 2 hours only to find him about 3 metres away from us on the roof terrace all the time…..
I had great expectations of Sankeys, after reviews on here, but it was so much better than that. At about 6ish, our old legs were complaining of enough, so back to the hotel we went to chill.
Top night, top people, top music, top club.
Sun 23rd
Sunday was always going to be about We Love. We had already purchased early bird tickets from Spotlight. The morning was spent trying to get some sleep after Sankeys. I think I finally managed to get to sleep about 1pm for a couple of hours. 5pm soon rolled around and it was off to the pharmacy in PdB again. We got a cab down to Space about 8.15 so we were in before the 9pm cut off. I was quite surprised how many people were already in when we arrived, but it wasn't busy. As this was the first time I'd been in a fully open Space, we spent the first couple of hours wandering around to get our bearings. Bumped into a couple of girls we met at Sankeys so just chilled out in the Premier Etage until the Discoteca opened.
I was really looking forward to Slam and Derrick May in the Discoteca, and split our time pretty equally between the Terrace and Discoteca until Slam came on at 1.30am. I'm not sure what was going on but there seemed to be some sound issues where we were standing at the back which spoilt it for me and the mrs couldn't really get into it with the sound dipping in and out. We returned for Derrick May and he played a blinding set.
During this time, we sent one of the group out to pick up some more gear as what we had wasn't hitting the spot. Knowing that there was no pass out on the Early Bird tickets we had, we were fully expecting to have to chip in for a 65 euro re-entry. So imagine our faces when he came back with the money intact. I don't know how he did it, but that's one good blag.
Into the Terrace for James Zabiela and 2 Many DJs. Jack87 has already described Zabiela's set, but I must mention the remix of Born Slippy, sacrilege. Don't mess with it!! It's a classic for a reason, it doesn't need D&B. Old man Rant over.
2 Many DJ's as usual played an eclectic mix. Some excellent acid mixed in there, much more to my taste. Not too sure about Human League – Don't you want me though.
I think we called it a night about 6.30. But 10 hours in Space for us oldies is a good go I reckon!
One observation for Dirk. There were some excellent examples of colour coded vest, trainer, short and baseball cap action. Straight out of the Bash St Kids. In fact there were a lot of vests in there – more than DC10 in June !! Wish I'd taken some pictures for you, but was struggling to focus….
Popular tune of the night, Chemical Brothers – Here we go. Heard it dropped at least twice.
Mon 24th
Quick chill out back at the hotel, and then a very quick pack and off to the airport for our lunchtime flight.
The pain kicked in as soon as we got in the cab and didn't disappear for about 4 days.
Observations about PdB June v September. Loads more British around in September and the average age is a lot higher, hardly any kids about.
So there you have it. 36 hrs in Ibiza, pretty hectic but immensely enjoyable.
Probably my best weekend ever.
Going back next year? You bet
