It will be starting to quieten down by then, which is nice as there's a bit more space on the beach and to move around generally. You'll find you don't have to queue so long for taxis etc. too. Plus the clubby shops will be having their closing sales so expect some bargains. It's still busy enough to be interesting though and most the bars will still be open. I think the sunset bars start to close towards the end of that week so do them first if you want to.
As for weather, still sunny and warm but a little more changeable, and the evenings can be a little chilly if you're sitting in a beach cafe for any length of time after sunset. I've been at lots of different times but I still think mid-September is best.

The sunset bars wont close that week, San An might be quite quiet, but the clubs can be very busy. The following week everything practically shuts down. Im flying out on the 21st for a week also. Will be my 3rd time there at this time of year.
If your into your clubbing you'll get a good range of clubs in...
ie. i'll be doing WLS @ Space on the Sunday, CircoLoco @ DC10 followed by Cocoon Closing @ Amnesia, there will be a couple of pish nights at Pacha, Subliminal and Defected on Tuesday and Wednesay I will be avoiding, then Monza CLosing at Privilege. Not bad for a week.

Some definately started to close that week last year. We flew back on 27 Sept and Sugar Sea and Kumharas closed before we left.
