I always read reviews on here but have never wrote one so here's my first review.

This year I was defiantly not coming to Ibiza as I've recently just got engaged and we had a nice week away to Egypt earlier in the year so money has been abit tight but once again the island was calling my name and me and my finance booked 4 nights in the Bahia hotel which is a 4 star hotel in San antonio just a few hundred yards away from bar m/Ibiza rocks bar. This was going to be my 4th visit to Ibiza and the excitement never gets any less.

I usually fly from Manchester but this year could only get flights from Leeds/Bradford so suitcases thrown in the car and off we went. Parked up at the airport and the nice man on the bus waited for us to take us to the airport entrance. We were flying with ryanair and expected a pretty dull flight how wrong were we! Smallest airport in the world full of young lads getting drunk. Now I'm only 25 and love a drink myself but I could see what was going to happen. We boarded the plane and ended with the rowdy lads directly behind us. They necked a full bottle of barcadi and a full bottle of jagermeister. Shouting, swearing, bouncing up and down. My idea of hell! The journey which is a quick 2 hours 30 felt more like 12 hours!

Finally landed in heaven just after 7pm, jumped in a taxi and straight to our hotel. The Bahia hotel has beautiful views right across the bay and is a beautiful spot to watch the sunset, however our room overlooked the side street. Great!

So off to the shop for some essentials, bottle of vodka, fanta lemon, bread, cheese and ham. 50 euros for a small basket of goodies. Last year we rented a car and found a supermarket opposite amnesia which all the locals went to and was half the price so it was hard to pay all that money from the spar shop. Just day light robbery. A nice few drinks and off we went on our first night.

We walked down to bay bar and got our tickets for Carl Cox closing party, 35 euros and a free bus at 11pm. We didn't want to go soo early into space so thought we would have some drinks at tantra. Now what I didn't like is as we were getting on the bus the guy from bay bar wanted us to swap our tickets with him saying 'you need to give them this one' the tickets he was trying to swap us for were the ones that allow entry before 12 and they are only 25 euros. Thought it was very cheeky of him to do this as it would earn more money. Tut tut.
We got to tantra had a nice few drinks and met a couple from holland and shots of herbias were shared and went down a treat. Ended up talking to a random who loved surfing and I said you don't get much surfing in my home town of Burnley which he replied that he was from Burnley. Didn't believe him at first so he pulled down his pants to show my his tattoo right on his arse saying 'made in burnley' I couldn't believe my eyes and had a right chuckle. Brill.

Into Space about 1 and it was nicely busy and tini was in the main room who I've never really heard off before but loved what was played. quick pop into the terrace where yousef was laying down his groovy beats to a welcoming crowd. Back in the main room for loco dice! Now loco dice always plays amnesia for cocoon so it was a treat for me but also for him to be playing at space as he was so energetic and seemed to love play to 5000 energetic clubbers. I thought i'd make my way down to the front of Space right infront of the dj booth, when I got down there I couldn't believe how much space there was, but after only 2-3mins down at the front I realised why there was so much space. Oh my god the bass down there is enough to revive a man who has just had a heart attack. My eyes balls were shaking, I could feel the air of the bass hitting my chest and passing right through my body and out again at the other side. Started to feel a little sick so decided to get off the dancefloor and bumped into some mates from burnley which was nice. Carl cox was next who started with an almighty bang and as always deliverd at what he does best 'oh yes, oh yes space' the big White sheet came out which I always love.

Woke up feeling a little delicate but nothing a bit of water and an English breakfast won't sort out. Walked right round to fishermans catch for my fisherman feast breakfast. Lovely. Chilled by the pool and drank a few jugs of sangria and worked on my tan. Had a little nap as we were going to watch the sunset, however I woke up too late but we still walked to the sunset strip and sat on the rocks with my beautiful fiancé with a few drinks looking at the wonderful colours of the sky. Then off to David's for something to eat. Now when I go to restaurants I never order steak as I love my steaks rare. Now when I mean rare I mean rare! Basically it's sealed and red in the middle but my fiancé talked me into it. Well I'm glad she did it was as rare as it could of been without still be alive. Perfect. A jug of sangria to wash it down with and an early was needed.

Woke up Thursday to an overcast day with a few spots of rain. So not to be down hearted we cheered ourself up to a kfc. Finger licking chicken. Went on the beach just outside the Hawaii hotel and drank yet more sangria. Back to the hotel for a cheese and ham and crisp butty before heading out in heavy downpour of rain ready for cream. Went to Ibiza rocks bar but as the heavens were well and truely open and also Ibiza rocks bar being well and truly open air it was a quick dash to linekers for a drink out of the rain. Not really my sort of bar but met up with some friends and it was good. Got onto amnesia around 12.30 and paid a nice 16 euros for a vodka lemon which went down too well. Solarstone was on in the main room and big smiles all around. Hopped into the terrace for a chris lake. He didn't play too bad and my music tastes are mainly techno/tech house but it made a nice change. My fiancé even commented on how cheesy the music went and she usually loves stuff like that. Her music tastes have also changed, I suppose all the times she has been to watch me dj she finally starts to like my music. I looked up at the balcony and could see deadmau5 looking down on all the thousands that had come to see him, as usual with his baseball cap on.

Now I know alot of people slate or are fed up with deadmau5 but I have to say he knows how to rock a crowd. 2nd time I've seen deadmau5 and I have enjoyed it immensely. First time was at the warehouse project in manchester. Throws in his classics plus a bit of new stuff and bounces around with his mouse head on. Packed in the terrace and as we were leaving popped our heads in to see ferry corsten also playing to a rammed main room. I very rarely go out to a trance night but still love it now and again.

Friday morning again once woke up feeling crappy and my fiancé even worse than me. Needed fatty crappy food and fast, left for a burger king and got my fast food fix. Nice sunny day, topped up the tan and dipped my toes in the sea, fantastic. Quick change and off for attempt number two to watch the sunset. Grabbed some despardos and watched an always stunning set before once again going for another t-bone steak cooked again to perfection with sangria. Decided to have a chill at bay bar so walked down the gaunlet of hell (the west end) and made our way to bay bar and had a apple shisha and a jug of sangria before going to a well needed bed.

Saturday cloudy in the morning but glorious sunshine in the afternoon quick coffee and a bite to eat before our flight home.

Even tho it was a short trip and just the 2 nights out I have to say Ibiza once again blew me away. Just gutted I'm now sat on my flight home writing this instead of being at the zoo project closing party. Gutted!

So to sum up Bahia nice and basic not really a 4 star but perfect location and clean and quite when you want it to be. £250 for flights and accommodation each and £1000 spending between us not exactly a cheap break but nowhere else on earth that can give you goosebumps from when you land and until you leave. Ibiza I salute you.
Till next year.......

Totally agree.

I'm already saving for 2011 especially seeing as the hubster has found his second wind for clubbing after a 10 year break
