No winter trip or opening parties this year so only trip will be for the closing parties... Just got my outward direct flight at the end of September for.... £27.99!!!!!!!

I am coming from NYC and the flights are f***ing expensive for September.

Is there a difference in crowd between September and August?

Haven't been in August... The last of the closing parties always seem to get an older crowd which suits me fine...

If i was going in August i would only go for a few days as i couldn't deal with everywhere being massively overcrowded and the roads being way to busy.. Plus Radio 1 weekend!!

You will find lots of threads on this. But - Yes, to a certain extent there is a difference. August is much younger as Europe is on holiday so attracts more kids (18-25).

In September things become less crowded, the crowd gets older (more 22+) and the more tech/techno nights get busier and the line-ups get even better as older crowds are more into this type of music. More likely to get a taxi, beaches less crowded etc...

Thanks guys. August seemed like a lot of rookies were in the clubs and on the streets. I felt old and people seemed to have a pole up their ass knowing I was American. I still made the best of it and had an amazing time. Maybe I just ran into the wrong people.

Sounds like we are doing the second week of September. Very excited for this!

only downside is sometimes it can get a bit cool/rainy in Sept compared to August. I prefer to go in Sept...usually 1st week though last year I went 2nd. Temps were fine though it did rain more than in my prior trips.

First two weeks of September are heaven in my view!

Last year was a crazy year for weather, even late August there was torrential downpours!
Hopefully that was a one-off. But of course, the chances of rain does increase in September.
As I have said numerous times its September when I usually get my best tan. You can just sit out for longer, the sun less strong and you tan perfectly... (disclaimer..... please still follow government advice on sunbathing lol)

I have been to a lot of places and I was having a hard time handling the son on the beach in August. It did not rain while I was there. Or I didnt remember it raining

£27.99 is a great price Ric.

August is the busiest month on the island and as stated before, the crowd is younger. Radio 1 weekend is usually the busiest of the month too. September is great month to come out, the closing parties are very busy, but most people are friendly.
I've found a lot of the younger crowd are a bit stuck up, so I don't think it has anything to do with you being American, just the way they are in general.

You can't fail to have a good time on the white isle, no matter when you visit :)

£39.98 return - first direct manchester flights of the year 1st-5th april! Got to head over pre-season to sort out accommodation and my clothes and stuff which are being stored so at that price can't argue..its half the price of my train ticket to bristol to see Ikoda for his trance night this month!
