Hello everyone!

We're two guys from Finland considering a party vacation to Ibiza this summer. We're not big on house/trance music.

Could you please fill us in whether we're too old for the scene as we're told most people are teens or early 20s. Also, are there clubs/bars that play other types of music like 70s, 80s, rock, heavy metal etc.

Responses much appreciated!

you are certainly not too old for the clubs. In particular, clubs like Space, El Divino and Pacha get a very mixed range of ages and nationalities in attendance.

If you do not like house music it may not be your thing. But is still worth visiting one of the clubs as is a unique experience you won't get elsewhere

not sure on the music, no doubt someone else can chip in - but in terms of age I would head to Ibiza town and i expect you will be about average!

i think alot of the main posters on here are in the 'superyouth' 25 - 35 market segment.

defo defo go - we are all 29 - 32, so a bit younger but not much & we leave a week saturday.:)

hi..i believe that u r never too old for ANYTHING!!

i am 26 and will be goin to ibiza when im well into my 30s even longer...i know ibiza has something for every1 and i am sure u will find places which suit your tastes even if it is down the west end...but ibiza isnt just about the music...it is one of the most beautiful and magical places i have ever been to and i never fail to enjoy myself...

i have just as much fun discovering new places to chill/eat/view sunset as i do clubbing

u will have a ball

enjoy

No you're never too old for Ibiza. I'm 34 this year and am going in a mixed age group from early 20's to mid 40's. I would never feel out of place over there it is for everyone who wants to experience it :)

My Girlfriend and I are both in our 30's and have been going to the island for the last 6 years. Never felt out of place, Ibiza is so special.

i'm 34,my girlfriend is 41....and still partying in ibiza since 1994 for me and 1987 for her,so...but we are house music addicted!!!

You might want to check out the Ibiza Rocks club night (starting from June 19). I didn't go there night last summer, but it was supposed to be good and featured many British indie/rock bands which haven't played in Finland.

Also there's supposed to be a rock bar in the West End area of San Antonio. Sorry, I've no firsthand experience from this place either cos I'm more of a "normal" clubber and go to Ibiza because of techno, house etc.

About the age question, we Finns are a young-looking nationality so you really won't have a problem -- and here I'm speaking of experience cos I belong to the "25 to 44 age bracket" myself :p

btw, if you like to go swimming and at the same time hear the latest Ibiza house music tunes for free, head for the Bora Bora beach bar which is in the middle of Playa d'en Bossa on the south side of the island (about 100 m from Space). Dj's are playing from about 4 pm to midnight and beer is about 5 euros a pint. Try it, you may like it!

The rock bar in the West End is called "Ground Zero" and despite various name changes has remained the one place guaranteed to be free of dance music for, I think, about 25 years.

Incidentally, it was also the venue for a sort of Ibiza Rocks after party last summer and the summer before. This year Ibiza Rocks is doing an official after party in Pacha's Global Room (Defected are in the main room). So if you want to see one of Ibiza's best clubs without spending the whole night dancing to house music...

Ditto. In fact with my girl being 32 and me 47, Ibiza's one of the few places where we don't feel at all awkward!

Forget the age thing..... it's about stamina. Out of the pair of us, I'm usually the last to want to leave the club! Though I must confess the chill-out bars are becoming more and more attractive.....

34, and I hope I am a youngen!

Know what you mean

Me (32) and my 36 yr old friend are going to Ibiza for the 1st time too, and were secretly worrying we would look ancient and not like size 4! Good question to ask!

Thanks for everyone for responding - we're encouraged by your comments and will be joining all the fun around July 28th - Aug 4. If there are any cool ladies who want to explore together the beaches and nightlife with us (we're two handsome Finns), please let us know :-)!
