2 day review/notes

A few observations rather than a review.

Four of us. Stayed at Hostel la Marina in Ibiza town. For 35 euros a night each this was great. Top floor, good size, ten yards from la marina yet quiet enough to rest. Excellent restaurant on the front. I'd highly recommend this particularly if you are just doing a few days.

Went to pirates tapas on figeurates front - top tip for es vivers tired of spending 15 quid for a burger, it's round the corner and great.

Then to space. Bizarre - nearly 9pm and hardly anyone in there - big queue for Ushuaia though. This was really interesting as I'd always assumed the firm had ibiza stitched up, but clearly space on this show has suffered badly. Also deep house, not classic sunset terrace tunes, though Jonathan Ulysees was excellent.

Later on my problem with club crowds told! I really don't enjoy everyone packed in with hands in the air rock gig style crowds. If you have moves like mine you need space to execute, like flying the red arrows in a warehouse. In short I felt my 35 years.

Walked to figeurates. Whilst the prostitutes I was expecting, the men jumping out from behind the trees on the front I didn't! I'm cool with that shit mind, it was eye opening tho! Lay on beach opposite es vive on sea weed. Made mistake of under influence text to wife, email to girl who sorted guestys and Facebook update - had to delete in shame next day. Over emotional.

Special mention in case you ever read this to the couple who kept us in vodka all night.

Next day Blue Marlin. Expected to not like, actually loved it. Great setting, families/clubbers/boat owners/northern monkeys, varied nationalities, 55 euros for a jug of sangria and a bottle of cava. Will be back just to spend a day / eve here. Only downer was the taxi queue which took half hour.

On to DC10, basically as space - first few hours loved it, best club I've ever been to (I'd never been in the main room before) - loved the Italian / south American alpha male strutting (lots of big fellas with tattoos of playing cards on neck in there?) and the music is perfect for the room. Then it got busy, a bit too busy, no one dancing really just perpetually walking across the room in big groups! lost mojo. Slightly got it back, got taxi back Bout 330. Really interesting international crowd in there, though you wouldnt cross some of them! a new one for me is the fair few Americans, good on em.

And that was that. This was a short trip as baby no 2 on way in oct. Finding blue marlin alone made me realise how the Ibiza offer really does have something for the evolving clientele - ie I will keep going as I get older, I will just adjust what I do! Also Americans and Ushuaia evidence that the island will keep changing and evolving, which was good to see.
