AN ECUMENICAL MATTER ON ST.PATRICKS DAY

THE 1[SUP]ST[/SUP] FATHER TED FEST TO TAKE PLACE AT FATHER JACKS IRISH PUB

‘NUNS &PRIESTS' SET FOR THE ST.PATRICKS SHENANIGANS ON SUNDAY 17[SUP]TH[/SUP] MARCH

(FIX/IBIZA//15[SUP]TH[/SUP] MAR 2013) On an island like Ibiza, where, unlike many other parts of the world, lets face it, there aren't actually that many Irish emigrants or Irish pubs for that matter, and what with one half of FIX IBIZA being a pure green-blood, we decided it would only be right to throw a petite shindig on ST.PATRICKS DAY for all us Irish and Wannabe Irish on our most important day of the year and also, our biggest excuse to get suckin' on the aul' diesel...Sunday 17th March is the big, green day of choice.

We've chosen probably the only Irish pub open on the island this Sunday, FATHER JACKS, in Figueretas as the location for this, the first Father Ted Fest on the island, combining our love of St.Paddy's with our love of all things Craggy Island. The event will be a homage to Fathers Ted, Dougal and of course, dear old Jack, and of course, to the late, great Dermot Morgan, creator and star of the hilarious TV series, who died whilst filming the last episode of Father Ted, back in 1998. God Rest Him…

The party will pretty much be a daylong affair and one for all the family, and since the pub opens at 10am till 3am, there's plenty of time to nip in for a pint of the old Gee-Gee throughout the course of the day.

In keeping with the Craggy Island spirit, we plan a number of activities throughout the course of the Ted Fest including:

· The Lovely Girls Competition
· The Sheep Throwing Challenge
· The Confessional Box
· The Parish Hall Céilidh
· A Quick Pray
and more stuff and nonsense as it occurs to us...

And the there's the music...and a total coup for the Ted Fest, as we are proud to present, in their premier gig on the island, THE FOLKIN' HOBOS! The recently formed three piece composed of Angie Smith, Joan Espinosa Molina and Aurelio XXX promise a musical medley of folk, rock n roll, country and a few Oirish diddies thrown in to mark the occasion and will grace our modest stage from 8pm.You don't want to miss this one!

There'll also be plenty more ceol agus craic, Irish Stew throughout the day, a bit of football for the boys in the afternoon and of course, Mrs. Doyle will be on hand all day with her infamous unending pot of tea and huge plate of sandwiches...

DRESS CODE! This is important. Basically, it's all about the nuns and the priests...we want to see plenty of each…and if there are any bishops in the house, do come on down…Think of it like a little unholy convention...

If you can't manage that, then try to look at least a bit like a Craggy Island Resident or just come dressed in green and you'll be laughing...
