LADIES FIRST at THE RETURN OF ROCK N MOLA

The island's Retro event is back from 18-20th May, in La Marina Ibiza with its live music,
vintage market, fashion show, classic car show, dance course and much more

Topping the LIVE bill, Lady Cherry & The Ladies (star of ‘Número Uno', Antena3)

Ibiza, 9th May 2012 (FIX Ibiza).-The Spanish all girl rock and roll group, The Ladies, fronted by recent competitor in Antena 3's ‘Número Uno', Lady Cherry, are to top the bill at the upcoming ROCK N MOLA festival. The area of La Marina, Ibiza will be rocking around the clock for the whole weekend from 18 to 20th May 2012.

In addition to a full live music showcase across 10 venues, the retro weekender will also feature a vintage market, fashion show, classic car and bike exhibition, Americano movie screenings as well as a Baby Rockers mini event for the kids.

Budding Peggy Sues will be able to star in their own pin-up photo shoot in the ROCK N MOLA Vintage Studio and in a collaboration with La Nave, the festival will also offer a Lindy Hop dance course as part of the planned activities. All that amongst much more with a whole host of businesses will be taking part with special themes and promotions.

“The Ladies just can't wait to get to Ibiza”, said their lead singer Lady Cherry.
“We hope to help fill the air with the essence and power of the 50's and 60's, with definite tinges of pin-up in there. Since my recent exit from the TV programme ‘Número Uno' on Antena 3, I've had lots of support from all over the country, but to be able to go to Ibiza and soak up its heat, well, I am just over the moon! Taking part in this year's ROCK N MOLA is the icing on the cake, we can't wait to spread some
Rock n Roll energy in La Marina. ‘The Ladies' make music but they also make a damn good party!”.

This year's event of three days as opposed to last years 22 hours has expanded to fill not only the Mercado Viejo y La Marina with rock n roll colour but will also be taking over Plaza de Parque with a welcome event from early evening on Friday 18th. Aside from DJs and live music, opening activities include a Lindy Hop exhibition and a chance to sign up for the dance course over the weekend. Other locations for rockin' rollin' fun between the 18-20th May include Plaza Sa Drassaneta and the frontline of Ibiza Port.

ROCK N MOLA will happen in the following locations: Plaza del Parque (Herry's Bar, Vila Café, Madagascar, Sunset, Pura Vida, Sargantana, Unión, Perfumería, Central Park y Aramon); Mercat Vell (Croissant Show); Plaza de Sa Drassaneta (Sushiya Aoyama); La Marina (Can Pou, Demiedo, AK Pepua, Locura, Itaka) and Puerto de Ibiza (La Biela, Zoo, Thai'd Up).

Jillian Canney, one part of local PR Consultancy FIX Ibiza, ROCK N MOLA event organiser and lover of all things vintage said, “After last year's first edition we can't wait to get rockin' and rollin' one more time. We feel the event is a great pre summer season alternative for locals and tourists alike offering not only a different soundtrack from the Ibiza norm, but this year, many new additions to the programme including the ROCK N MOLA takeover of Plaza de Parque over the weekend not to mention the special appearance from Lady Cherry and the local bands. Basically, we can't wait for the Return of ROCK N MOLA”.

these crappy pictures don't make justice to such an amazing evening but it was all about
having fun and not about snapping away. the retro event lasted all weekend with all kind of
activities but i only attended on saturday night to catch the live music happening in different
places around la marina. all bands were great but the southern-flavored UNCLE SAL deserve
a special mention for proving, once again, that they kick ass like no other ibiza band and
that they have the best frontman to ever come out from our wee island. well done
to the organization for all the effort..... more of the same next year, please ! !
