Thursday 15th
Flew in from Leeds and after getting a taxi to the Osiris hotel,
we were staying in the bay this year, Hotel was ok for the price,
scored a ground floor room looking out on to some gardens.
Dumped the bags and had a quick dip in the pool before heading
off for a bit of an explore.

Walked round to the fountains and had some lunch in one of the pavment cafes. Plus a jug of cava sangria
which my girlfriend didn’t like so I had to drink it all.
Headed back to the hotel had dinner (average edible)
then got ready for a night out. Massive storm started. We decided to
have a walk and see if we could find kumuras, stopping off on the
way for drinks at tacky british pubs and such like. Eventually found Kumurahs and chilled there for a bit before getting a taxi to
the west end. Checked out Plastic and Hush and
some other nameless bars. Taxi home.
Friday 16th
Taxi to St Eulia, and had a walk about the shops and market, bought
some snorkels but the sea was too cloudy. Whilst sunbathing
an old lady got into trouble swimming so I did my best Baywatch
impression and plucked her from the sea. Good karma all round.
Went and got a paella at a beach front café and a few beer. Had
a quick walk up the restaurant street and then jumped on a bus to
Ibiza town (E1.60) had a few beers in the streets and then walked
around the harbour area and a quick look in dalt villa before jumping
on a boat to playa den bossa, where we got down to some snorkeling before catching the boat back to Ibiza town and then a taxi back to
San An.
After tea walked round to the Bay Bar and chilled there for a bit,
quite like this place has a nice chillout area and loads of seating
and not too big prices. Popped into itica and orange corner as
well, before venturing up the west end for some drinks at Hush
and plastic again and quite possibly an irish pub
Sat 17th
Decided to miss breakfast in hotel and sample one elsewhere,
finished that off and caught the boat to Cala Bassa, very nice beach
with a couple of café restaurants, did loads of snorkeling and
paella eating and also got given some wrist bands for
es pardis before getting boat back and stopping for drinks
in some café with a grumpy waiter. Had a siesta then caught
a taxi to sunset strip, watched the cloudset at mambos
had drinks then walked down to the front and had some food.
Walking back towards es pardis to see who was on, when we decided
to go on the bungee rocket, expensive but fun, we decieded to
go back to the room get some more cash and come back to
Es-pardis, on the way we got given 2 tickets to Privilege,
unbelieavable! After a quick discussion we decided to go
there instead, went home got cash, went to bar M for a
few drinks and caught the free bus, got to Privilege about 2am
and it was empty, had a e27 round of 2 vodka limons,
then ae20 2 beers and decided it was ****, we could be
back in BarM living like kings with the money we were
spunking away at an empty club. So caught the bus back to
San An. Don’t get me wrong if it had been fuller im sure
it would have been great but a club without atmosphere
isn’t really a club in my book. By the time we got back
it was knocking on for 6am anyway so we must of stuck it for quite a bit.
Sun 18th
Got up and went out for breakfast as we were not that impressed
with the food in the hotel to be honest. We didn’t have a plan for
today so we jumped in a taxi and ended up at Cala Conta,
spent the day snorkeling, drinking and eating, the café there
had a semi decent chill out bit and I bet it would be nice
at sunset, Cala conta is a nice beach but is quite small.
Got a lift back to San an off some Spanish guy for e7
after a bit of haggling! Got changed and went to off to
find the bus to Ibiza town, just missed the first one so
we popped into Villa Mercedes for a drink and to check it out,
most impressed, real nice chillout area, spent too long
in there chillin’ so we had to get a taxi to Ibiza town
as we missed the last bus. Had a few beers near the stalls
then headed into the mayhem, I know a lot of people slate the west end
but, I was pissed off with the street we ended up on, totally
rammed with arrogant coke heads, everyone trying to rip each other off
, got dragged into some bar where we paid e17 for 2 beers on
the promise of a 2 for 1. was getting really pissed off with the whole
vibe as it was simply bull**** tacked on to Ibiza, not what the island
is about. Anyway got out of there and had a nice stroll through the
streets and caught the taxi back.
Monday 19th
Formentera
Up with the larks to stroll over to the harbour to catch the boat to
Formentera, it was a ****ty cloudy day today, but we hoped it would
get out nice after. As we were waiting a party boat arrived full of
casualties after a full nights clubbing, was great fun watching
everyone. One girl decided to jump over board and lost her glasses
, then the music stopped and there was a lot of glum faces,
someone shouted after party at the ship and off they all went!
After a long 2hours on the boat we made it into La savina port
and promptly aquired a 125cc scooter
, we then spent the day exploring all the beaches on
formentera,
we went right up to the light house and the cliffs and then
back to san fransico for something to eat, but everywhere was
rammed, so we jumped back on the bike and headed on the
road hoping to find a little café off the beaten track.
Time was ticking on so we settled for espujls (sp?)
and a nice little restaurant , where I had a mixed grill and the
lady had some lasagna type affair. Ate lunch then rocked it back
to the harbour just in time to catch the boat back. Was a really good
day so we decided to celebrate by having dinner at Villa Mercedes.
Real nice food, and as I said before excellent ambience.
After dinner we sat in the chill out lounge and drank cocktails
Tues 20th
Got up and jumped in a taxi to playa den bossa and checked out the
water park, spent the morning on the slides and rides then at lunch
got a pass out and went and had lunch on the beach, surprise!
another paella and sangria. After lunch had a mooch round the shops
and then back to the park for a few more goes on the slides then
off to bora bora for the afternoon, As people have said Spiderman is back!
Although on the day we went he had a rather suspicious brown
stain on his spidey suit, made even worse when some
Spanish dude(pictured) gives him a shoulder ride
on the tables. When the barriers came up we
went for a drunken swim and then headed
back to San An where for some reason we ended
up in KFC very drunk. Finished off with a night cap
at Bay bar café.
Wednesday 21st
Up and out for brekkie and hopped in a cab to the hippy market
at Es cana, browsed around the tat and picked up a
few gifts for back home. Then went to the beach and
had drinks then set off to find a scooter place,
the plan being to get some wheels and check out some
beaches at the north of the island. But could we **** find a
hire place, with my best survival Spanish and motorbike
impressions we got directions for one 2k away in the
miday heat, so off we trot only to discover it was closed,
carried on walking down the St elulia / Escana road to
find another place, shut for siesta, damm! Decided to
taxi back and get one in San An, which we promptly
did, spent the afternoon checking out Cala tarida, calla moli,
calla vadella where we had lunch, got back on the bike
and headed to cala dhort then back through the villages
to san an, gassed up the bike at this weird garage
were you had to pay first, this was a scooter so I
guessed e3 and it was bang on full, lucky or what.
We got stuck in traffic outside orange corner and
just as we are about to pull in to the hire place a car pulls out
and hits us, we keep upright but the car has caught my girlfriends legs,
the driver comes over and apologises. Theres no damage to the
bike just Jems legs are all skinned open, she wants to get
back on but I tell her if they see her leg we will loose the e100 deposit!
So like a twat I have to leave her at the side of the road to
secure our last nights money. Get back to my girl and shes in shock
and hurting so we go to the docs, they want e90 just to see her,
plus any for xrays etc, I make another twat decision and promise
to sort her out at the hotel and a chemist, which I do. Now you may
be all thinking im some sort of cnut but it wasn’t life threatening and
e90 is a lot of drinks lol!!
Have dinner at coastline and watch the fireworks at the s
ubliminal party thing outside Mambos
then off to villa Mercedes for chillout and lots of cocktails
with the money we saved by avoiding medical attention,
theres no injury a heibas cant fix!! *wink wink*
Thursday 22nd
Get up and catch the plane home
This was my 4th time to Ibiza, and my girlfriends first time,
so I wanted to show her as much of the island as possible
which I think we managed, although it would have been
good to do more clubbing, im getting on a bit now and I didn’t want
to spend 3 days with an old-man come down as we only had
7 days and you need to be up early to see everything plus we
like doing the couple thing.
Budget wise we had £100 a day each so we didn’t have to
worry too much and we could eat out as much as we wanted
which we did, we also had £150 ebay money for taxis and
boats which we made full use of. You can do the island on
the cheap as the busses are plentiful and cheap but its
nice to be able to hop in a cab and get going on a whim.
I would recommend the formentera expedition as the scooter
was only e26 with a e14 deposit and e3 for fuel, there are
some unbelievable beaches there and the roads arnt too
mental unlike San An which could of ended very badly.
As for the free tickets that was a bonus as that one day
we scored 3 (I neglected to mention the Eden one as we
wernt gonna go)
Ibiza 06, I saved a life, got hit by a car and ate paella
washed down with Heibas.
I think that sums it up nicely
