As part of the 4 day-long celebration of October Festival Ibiza, Ibiza Rocks Hotel is proud to be extending its summer season by bringing the pioneers of the London Acid Jazz scene, The Brand New Heavies, to the famous Ibiza Rocks poolside stage for a one-off special show live under the Balearic stars on Friday 10th October 2014.

The October Festival Ibiza (9-12 October) celebrates the end of the summer in San Antonio, Ibiza by bringing people together for four days of live music, culture, food and fun in the sun.The music of the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s and 90’s provides the inspiration for the festival, which welcomes music legends including Boy George and The Brand New Heavies alongside the best local artists to fill the town for this four-day summer send off party by the sea. Local markets, restaurants, arts & crafts fairs, hotels and bars unite for the ultimate San Antonio takeover to bring summer 2014 to a close.

One of the festival highlights is a special live concert with The Brand New Heavies - a British music institution whose unique mix of jazz, funk and soul has lit up the UK music scene for well over two decades. Over the years the band have been responsible for some of the UK’s biggest R & B/ soul tracks, scoring 16 top 40 singles including ‘Dream On Dreamer’ and ‘You’ve Got A Friend’, as well as over two million album sales.

Fans can expect huge hits from standout album ‘Brother Sister’ including the timeless classic singles ‘Dream On Dreamer’, ‘Back To Love’ and ‘Spend Some Time’ which all soared to Number 4 in the UK chart and their biggest chart single to date ‘Midnight at the Oasis’, turning the album platinum in the process.

Moving on to newer times, 2013 saw The Heavies re- emerge in triumphant and refreshed form with original collaborator N’Dea kicking things off in spectacular style on the single ‘Sunlight’. This special live concert will pay tribute to the huge hits of the past and showcase new hits of the future from The Brand New Heavies’ new album “Sweet Freaks” out in October’

The Ibiza Rocks Hotel provides a unique concert setting, where the rooms surround the courtyard, poolside stage and guests have the option of watching living music legends from their own private bedroom balcony.
