Top tip: Watch out for pickpockets at all times

No need for digging, just face it. You and your group are doomed.

To prevent anything bad, travel like in the 60's.
No mobile phones, no Tablets, no Laptops, not any device with an USB-plug only some cash, travellers cheques, Passport and enough pot to cover the first days.

Just pay attention, meet all security measures and you will be fine. Most people being robbed are kind of begging for it.
You've just said we'll be doomed, then you state if we meet security measures we'll be fine?

I stayed in a IbizaVillas2000 property in Playa d'en Bossa 2 years ago, must be the same one as I'm sure they only have the one there. They certainly hammer home to you about the security side of things, showing you the alarms, telling you to keep windows shut etc.
You didn't get burgled? We're not staying in Playa and the woman from IbizaVillas2000 has said our property has never had any issues, so who knows

Just follow all the security advice every single time you leave it vacant. If there's a pool and everyones round it, lock everything behind you. Lock everything lockable. Dont bring any laptops or any thing of any value - likelihood is you dont need it. And if you do bring valuables then you'll just be worrying about them every time you're out which doesn't make for a pleasant holiday anyway. Dont leave cash in the villa, use a currency card. In theory all you should really be leaving behind when you go out are clothes and toiletries. So if the worst thing happens and you are burgled all the scum bags can get their hands on is a few pairs of pants and some toothpaste. Above all, have a brilliant holiday on the island. :)

Stay in for the first two day,all lights off and just wait for the thieving bastatds to come in.
Then "For the love of HOUSE" batter the fck out of the cnuts

Robbed on ibiza

Second time they robbed our house...

Thursday night around (we think) 3/4 o'clock thief's entered the house while everybody was sleeping. They even went in to the downstairs studio where 3 children and there parents where sleeping. No body woke up and they took a lot of belonging. Around 5/6 they tried at different banks to use our American Express and other bank cards.
This is the only clue we have from them, let's hope they are on camera.
We went to the guardia civil the next morning it took us 3hours they put up a rapport and when they have time in the next couple of days they will pass by the house.
It's crazy that on this island with so manny tourist who spend so much money what attracts so many criminals there is a short of police officers...

We have 4 chihuahua's in the house, they started barking around 3/4 but as they sleep in bed and the owner thought somebody else just come home after partying he ignore them.
We learned never ignore your dogs barking in the middle of the night always check!!

It's still unreal....last year they robbed us in the same house during day time (Sunday lunch time) there was nobody in the house for just 1 hour!!
But this time they come in when the house was full with sleeping people...we drive our selfs crazy with the 'what if' situations.

We are residents, don't drive fancy cars, don't spend a lot of money in the clubs, don't wear expensive watches, don't take home 'working girls', don't live in a big ass Vila, we try not to track a lot of attentions, we don't have a lot of money or value stuff in the house..
And with the experience of the robbery last year we are extra careful around the house.
And still we get robbed.

This people are professionals, if they want to come in they will find a way.
And 1 purse or laptop can al ready be enough reason for them.

Be warned! In the 3 hours we spend in the police station we spoke to 4 other people who got robbed in the same night.
They are active everywhere all the time!

Genuine question, but what do the police in Ibiza actually do? It's not like it's London, gang crime , knife crime etc. It's a small tourist island !

bar owners + senegalese street vendors ("lookylookys") united
against (mostly) romanian and moroccan scum

West End entrepreneurs face gangs who rob tourists
due to lack of police presence

Entrepreneurs of West End this summer have decided to confront themselves with the help of their employees safety bands of thieves berthing tourists off the leisure area, on Calle Santa Agnès, in direction of the taxi rank.
The bank where every night bands Romanian tourists sit to dock, according to reports from employers.

As explained by four bar owners, the lack of presence of members of the local police, but especially the Civil Guard, allows some "30 or 40" people, mostly Romanian and Moroccan origin, acting on departure West End, stealing wallets and mobile phones from tourists, who then decide not to go more to the entertainment area by the lack of security.

Bar keepers Soul City, Julian Cobby; the Faces, David Martin; the Koppas, Jose Torres, and the bar Stereo, Juan Torres, have come together to make this public denunciation, after going "40 times" the City of Sant Antoni and get the same response that they have effective, and that the area, as reported, the Civil Guard never appears.

According to David Martin explains, the integrity of tourists "in danger" by the performance of these bands picking "certain age couples who have more money, they watch and have portfolios". "One berthed to the woman, another man, and corralled them, rob them and beat them," he added Martin, who said that "the Senegalese prostitutes do the same job".

Meanwhile, Julian Cobby, explains that many of the thieves "are professionals" who extract money from tourists portfolio, and then pretending to have found it back on the floor. The Soul City Manager estimates that "at least every night stolen 50 mobile and 50 portfolios" to exit the West.

Backed by street vendors
Two weeks ago, the entrepreneurs themselves decided to confront the gangs with the help of its employees safety and Senegalese street vendors, who claim to feel supported.

"Look how is the thing that Senegalese have to defend us. We have to unite with 'looky lookys' because we are powerless. They give no problems, do not steal, sell glasses and other things, but that's your problem. We will often quarrel with rumamos and 20 or 25 Senegalese come to support us. We felt safe with them, look up what situation we must come; to have to get together with illegal people, "he added the head of Faces.

As explained, a week were down every day to try to take down the gangs of thieves. One of the nights, "they called the police and within five minutes two cars of the Civil Guard and local police were to talk to us. And when we call the police, they do not come ", has criticized Cobby, and ensured that only come to control public relations or that noise does not go outside.

They denounce lack of security around Sant Antoni

However, according to the manager Stereo, Juan Torres, the problem of lack of security affects all Sant Antoni and not just the West End. "It is no longer a problem in the West, is Sant Antoni in general. At four o'clock you see around and look in every corner of the town, a Romanian, a Moor or a prostitute. And all notified each other, they see a drunk and already are the prostitute and Romanians who come to steal, because they do not act alone, "he explained.

Moreover, as noted, inside the West End "it is safer" because they are responsible for both entrepreneurs as Senegalese vendors, take down the gangs of thieves from the streets of the entertainment area. So now they act around. "Even the Senegalese around here catch the thieves. In fact, now the West End is safer than another area, because sellers know that if comes the Civil Guard will not be able to work, and as they do not want to rob people, pick their necks and tell them, 'out in this zone, so are around, "said Torres.

According to the manager, "the situation is hopeless"
because although the hotel recommended its clients not go to the West End for theft, not only this area, but all the people "is dangerous" as they have never seen, adds .

Entrepreneurs recognize that the problem of lack of security is not now. However, they explain that there always have been "three or four" thieves, but now have increased up to "30 or 40".

"We used a private security agents, we had nurses and now we have nothing. We are left from the hand of God. We have less police and Civil Guard than any other year, "criticism, for his part, David Martin, who points out that takes 25 years working at night.

According Cobby, tourists are experiencing a problem "between the City and entrepreneurs and owners of West End".

"Tonight is the feast of Sant Antoni, certainly a hundred people will loose their mobile," said Cobby, on the night of Sant Bartomeu big day.

Did not see any police at all in San Antonio last week. Used to hear the sirens quite often. Pretty quiet this time. In Ibiza town I passed a group of policemen who were escorting 2 men in handcuffs into the police station. The men seemed pretty relaxed as if they were used to it, or had been arrested before.

Saw the same guy who mugged me last year in San Antonio. Saw two 'white' prostitutes near him who were approaching guys and offering their 'services'. They were likely working together.

Another prostitute 'black' approached me. I was half asleep and thankfully I had nothing in my pockets (kept my bus fare in my shoe). She grabbed my arm and pulled me towards a discreet corner where another girl and a guy were sitting. She went through my pockets and found nothing. She then wanted to know which hotel I was staying at (she clearly wanted to follow me there and rob me there and take whatever she could find valuable in my room.) Joke was, I was not staying at any hotel. For a mugger she was very polite. She liked my belt and wanted it (she thought it looked valuable. I got it for £3 at Primark). I gave her my belt for a laugh, and then she put it on. I said it suited her more than me and we both walked back together (I was in a daze from lack of sleep and pretty easy going). This time I held her by the arm and said in a loud posh voice "So how was your day darling?" She laughed and said "good." I replied "Marvellous!" Best way to get out of a tricky situation is to add comic relief. Confuses the hell out of them and they walk way - quite fast.

and you just let her, seriously, what the f***????

Reading all this is getting me very worried, touch wood, I've never had anything stolen. Taking my gf for the first time next month, hope nothing happens to put her off going in future

and you just let her, seriously, what the f***????

I've seen her many times over the years. Knew she was not dangerous (not going to pull a knife out or anything like that). I had nothing in my pockets so I wasn't bothered when she dived her hands in quick looking for something. The experience reminded me of this scene from Laurel and Hardy (I would like to Fondle You!)

:D
