abandoned open air concert arena near san an

Hi, wonder if any of u lot can help me,

our mates had a villa just outside san an, in the hills, we were driving down loads of dirt tracks to find it when we came across this old abandoned outdoor concert arena type thing. Was in total ruins, loads of grafitti everywhere. It's called the festival club (well i suppose it is since it's got it in big letters around the arena) was pretty cool stumbling across it and just havin a look round.

was just wondering whether any of u lot have been there, or know about it cus it seems like a wicked venue to do a party (if it was cleaned up a bit, loadsa broke glass etc) also does anyone know why it's in total ruins/not used anymore etc, cus it doesn't actually look like its that old some of the builing work is fairly-ish new??

tried to find stuff out on net but u can imagine what results i got when typing festival, club, and ibiza in to google

anyway i've attatched some pics for u to look at

also sorry if this has been posted before etc and it's one of those posts that crops up every year by someone new :D

oddly enough i was there yesterday. it's actually in san jose and was a cabaret/chicken in the basket/mini bullfight type place until the 70's. visitors were bused in on coaches to enjoy the entertainment and spectacular views.

nowadays it just seems to be used for dumping rubbish, grafitti and fashion shoots for the pacha magazine.

cheers for the info, shame it's got in such a state really, could be quite nice done up. thanks again :)

i don't think there's much market for that type of entertainment these days.

btw did you see our house from the top?

reckon it'd be good for a party, stick the decks on the stage bit, get a load of people there, hire a couple for cars and do taxi runs to the airport when people fall over and break there necks coming down the stairs, or when the floor gives way beneath them

cant really remember seein anything apart from greenery when up there. our mates villa was a minutes drive from there tho, had to follow the pink stones up the hill. Prob did see yours tho if u can see it fro the top of the arena. noticed that car tho that had fallen from the cliff behind and slammed in to the back of the arena.

hey click. i remember when i was in exactly your situation a few years back. couldn't believe my eyes when we stumbled on it. I felt like i was some kinday Indiana Jones

hey, i can see your house from here ;) (old jokes home escapee punchline)

Festival club

Have been up to the remains of the old Festival Club quite a few times, makes the hairs on your neck stand up, awesome.

Has anyone got any memories and photos of this place back in the day as I would love to see what it was like.
