Yet another Ibiza virgin looking for advice :)

Hello all,

We're arriving on July 29th, have 5 nights, and are into a little of everything, Trance, Progressive, Hard House, etc. Would love some feedback on the following:

Friday the 29th - Pacha perhaps? (sounds like a good line-up and I'd love to check out this club)

Saturday the 30th - From what I can gather a reasonably "quiet" night on the island (for Ibiza :D ).... Was thinking Water Party but have been told that is typcially a very young crowd...thoughts?

Sunday the 30th - WLS - buying tickets beforehand is a good idea?

Monday the 1st - Manumission or somewhere else? Going through the 2005 reviews on this board I have not heard too much about it, what can one expect?

Tuesday - Amnesia (Big Oakenfold fan)

A lot of posters have mentioned DC10, as well as the bar, Bora-bora...so much too see, so little time...therefore any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers :)

Friday's at Pacha are PACKED. Mostly an English crowd. If you like the line-up, then go.

Saturday. Quiet? Hmmm...?? I usually go to Defmix at Pacha. Granted, I'm biased, but I do think they pull in a good crowd. They've had some really great guests lately. And I always have a good time.

Sunday. There's no need to buy tickets ahead of time. You're buying the full discounted price that you can get anywhere on the island. The queue isn't any shorter than the regular one. And if you're committed to getting there early, you can get a much cheaper ticket than the late-afternoon cost that is on the website.

Monday most people do DC10 (5-ish till close at 11-ish) -> Bora Bora -> Cocoon @ Amnesia or Manumission @ Privilege. I think Manumission is a good experience. The club is mind-blowing due it's size. It has some pretty good music going. There's good diversity in the "show." And the live show is something to talk about when you get home.

Tuesday. Amnesia pulls a crowd every night so you'll have fun. No comment on Oakie. ugh.

Thanks Tiffany, it's great to here some firsthand feedback! Guess there's no counting for my taste in music though, huh? :D

What's your take on buying Manumission tickets beforehand, given you get the "free" entrance into Space afterwards...is that also cheaper on the island?

Thanks again!

I can't answer that. I don't even know what they charge to get into Manumission. If it makes you feel better having one less thing to worry about, then do it. But it's not hard to get a discount ticket here. In fact, it's hard not to!

You just need to ask yourself if you can really make it to the carry on. I recommend DC10 and Bora Bora prior. If you have more energy to keep going after Manumission, then kudos. I have to recommend sleeping to get ready for Armada. But I whole-heartily admit that I'm not full on crazy.

Pure Pacha can be good, depending on who's playing. I find at wkend you get a lot of people in Pacha who are there just cos it's Pacha at a wkend rather than being there for the music but it's always rammed.

I'd have Saturday night off, go to Bora Bora, go watch a sunset, go to some bars round Ibiza Town, go to a nice restaurant.

Sunday obviously We Love Sundays. Buy your tickets online from here in advance, one less thing to bother about when you get there.

You could do DC10 Monday daytime but if you've never been before you should go to Manumission just for the sheer vastness of the place. Then there's always the option of Manumission Carry On @ Space Tuesday morning ;)

Tuesday night, good choice if you like your trance, shouldn't be anywhere near as busy as Cream and you'll get to see Amnesia as well.

Have a good hols 8)

Is Oakie playing Armada that night or something or is that Tuesday not an Armada night? If ur a big Oakie fan, don't miss it. Since u are a big fan, I won't comment either haha..

Umm Saturday, if you like house, try Hed Kandi, however it's very busy and expensive... but still good house. I spent my Saturdays.... f***, i can't remember hahahaha! But yeah, use your Saturday to explore as much of Ibiza nightlife outside the clubs as you can if the rest of your nights are booked.

Cheers,
Terry

Hey Terry,

Too funny that you're from E-town as well...small world. Read your review (well okay, most of it ;), if I can have half as good a time as you did last year I'll be happy! Appears as though I should check out that bar plastic, sounds like you went there once or twice. :)

Cheers

You're from E-town too?? Have we spoke before?

Yeah, Plastik is just amazing. Will scan some pics tonight of the bar and the legendary bartender Zena... *sigh* hahahaha! It is just a great place to get started and with my friends being managers/bartenders, etc it was a great place to just call homebase.

I don't know if we've spoken, but I'm sure we've been at a few of the same parties. The first one I went to in E-town was Ascension (hence the urge to see Oakie again), followed by numerous others. Was also a big fan of Climax back in the day when Crunchee was playing some mad sets there….ahhh the good old days. Just thinking about it gets me excited for next week!!!

Friday - Check out Pacha - really check out Pacha and all it's rooms and terrace

Can't recommend Bora enough - get :D and dance on the tables

My best hard house experience would be Cream - Amnesia, unfortunately you would have to miss your plane like we ended up doing.
