How upsetting is that, especially for an American? The country is really going to hell - and fast! Just witness New Orleans and the current state of affairs following Katrina - looting, violence, etc. And the government has the nerve to spread this to other countries?

When I was still in high school, I used to throw mega-parties at my parents place in L.A. the weekend before the start of the school year. My dad would hire security at the gates and only those on the guest list could get in (some 300). There were always people trying to crash the party but couldn't get in - caused alot of chaos on the street. So one time the police came pounding on the door and were a bit surprised to see my dad open the door. They threatened to arrest him if he didn't shut the party down. My father, a high power lawyer, told them firstly to stop wagging their fingers in his face and that if they were to come back to arrest him, that they better be damn sure why and under what code they were arresting him otherwise he would have their ass for false arrest.

Needless to say, the party went on and the police never came back.

In the U.S., the police prey on innocent people who do not know their rights. The moment you become a bit firm with them, they do tend to wobble (which can also be scary).
