Why can't you take your camera in Space?

I was gutted when i went to the We Love Space Closing Party and they took my camera off me :x

Really wanted piccies of me and my mates in there.

Then not only do they take it off you - they make you pay to give it in! Grrrr :cry:

Space and Amnesia both have no camera policies, I always manage to sneak mine in tho ;)

Is that for all Space nights though or just 'We Love Sundays?' Cause apperantly my mate took her camera into Space last summer no probs on the 'In Bed With Space' night.

How do you sneak yours in?

It's meant to be for all Space sesh's but you tend to get less security at the carry ons so you're less likely to get searched.

My camera's really small so is easy to hide in a discreet place, also they're less likely to search girlies than boys I find ;)
 
Or just take a Sony Ericsson K750i 2megapixel phone cam in. Should do the trick for a club shot.

Just my 2 pennies worth

exactly what i did, got video footage of p diddy the lot! 8)
 
because official photographers go round taking pictures to sell you.

if we were going to a decent night, we'd take along a new disposable and take it in. if it got taken off us we hadn't lost much and the photo's are decent from them.
 
jonny and phil, i think you are both right. a lot of VIPs go to space and let their hair down, space and other clubs are very respectful of their privacy.

quite rightly too.
 
i don't know why but i know i wouldn't listen to the rule and sneak it in! one of my fave nights so would be a shame to have no pic's of it. i put mine down my top. got a brill pic of fat boy slim. somehow my 5ft n othin mate managed to take it! on some poor guys shoulders. she was hammered and i was really worried as from where i was standin it looked like she was about to climb in the dj booth with him! :lol:
 
I sneaked my small camera into Space each and every time i went there this year :D

Just be a bit wiser than usual and use your sense when thinking about hiding places ;)

additional to what's said, there's a couple of other reasons:

- the Ibiza clubs have a certain mystique about them - having thousands of poorly taken photos all over the place would spoil that somewhat
- if cameras were allowed in, loads of people would bring them as they're on holiday so would be v annoying with flashes going off everywhere constantly
