Do you eat meat, Silvia? Do you buy it from the super market? I'd say that large scale farming animals for meat or dairy is also all of the above

I'm completely with Sil on this one and no I don't eat meat and haven't done for 10+ years.

I eat meat, we're the top of the food chain and I don't see anything wrong in eating animals that have been specifically bred to be eaten.

I think bull fighting is a totally different game altogether! Watching a bull get tormented and teased whilst being paraded in front of a crowd... how can that be classed as a sport? Ranks about the same as cock fighting, bear dancing etc in my opinion. Animals paraded for human enjoyment :x  :?

It's not about EATING meat, it's the way the meat is produced. How animals are treated like machines with the sole purpose of producing as much as quickly as possible.

I'm definitely not for bull fighting, but I think worse is happening on a much larger scale all the time, and nobody thinks twice. :?

What's eating meat has to do with matadors?
Give a bull the same chances as a matador; don't have the bull spiked and almost bleed to death before the matador takes over.
Bullfighting is a disgrace.
I went to some bull fighting and the big guy was El Cordobes

Don't know what you mean. I do meat but only 2 or 3 times a month, usually in two restaurants in the countryside where they feed the animals in a ecological way. If I buy it here it's from ecological shops too.

The thing is, that Matador makes a show of the agony of an animal. That's totally wrong and it's quite annoying if you are spanish :?

Becki,
Do you know what are they feed? those animals have a very iunfit (¿?) life, hundred cows in two square metres, feeded with antibiotics and hormons... If you are in the top of the food chain you get all that chimic aswell :!: :!:

To be honest Sil most of the meat I eat comes from farms here in England. I never eat processed meat i.e the kind of stuff you get in Macdonalds, always buy free-range products (where the animals are left to roam free on the farm).
I know you can never be 100% totally sure where the meat has come from but I do always try to make a conscious effort to eat the best stuff!

I know what you mean Becki, but there are farms and ecological farms. I would never eat a piece of meat if I'm not 150% sure it comes from a safe place ;)

If I'm at home I know the meat my parents buy is always from the local farms, so I know I'm eating good stuff there ;)
If I'm at Jon's there aren't any local farms in East London  so we normally buy meat from the local supermarket. We always buy the slightly more expensive stuff though, where it states it's from a free range farm.

We had same problem here, it's difficult to find proper meat in barcelona and Pep gets two or three "jamón" for Chirstmas from suppliers instead of steaks we have jamón:

I'd say that given that the following man is one of the most famous men in the western world, he must be the most famous matador...
