What are the best Tapas bars in Ibiza?

Theres a few good tapas bars in Ibiza Town, the one we prefer though I cant remember what its called. It covers 2 street corners and is in a narrow but very busy tourist street in the heart of the town. It has loads of tapas listed on blackboards and is always packed with not only tourists but Spanish too which is always a good sign!!! The staff are busy, but on the ball and dont speak english at all (well hey why should they!). The food is to die for (try the chiperones and the dates stuffed with almond wrapped in bacon - WOW). The bill is always a surprise too - way too cheap for what you've had! You wont regret it - I just hope someone can tell you the name of it.

Whats the system for paying is it you buy the tapas before , or is it just help yourself and they count the plates or is it like in Santander they count the toothpicks (there's one in each tapas), and then charge you on the tooth picks left on your plate.
My favourits tapa's has got to be a good old tortilla with ham and cheese., two of those is a meal.
Tapas has got to be one of the greatest inventions for the all day drinking sesh as it allows you to keep on going at a leisurely pace as you are not just filling yourself up with booze.
I used to find each bar used to do one Tapas quite well so I would order that Tapas in that bar and move onto the next one for the next delight.
Stay clear of those horible dirty 2 plastic seats and a pile of rubbish and fag butts on the floor, footy on the telly, holes in the wall. They only have a maingy stale bread roll with some manky ham on it. Not the real deal at all.

Being a lover of proper Spain. I've been all over, but never to Ibiza, (until this Summer) And I am surprised at the seemingly lack of tapas bars in Ibiza town.
Why is this? There's loads in Palma. Is it less 'Spanish'?
Maybe there are a few, but I just can't find any in the rough guide/on the internet

We were bit rubbish last year and only made it to 1 which was that place run by the dutch guy in fIgueritas next to Coolture Cafe . We thought it was very nice but would be keen to hear what other ppl whith abit more tapas knowledge think of it

Thanks Stephen, will be staying n San An this year for the first time in 8 years so a bit out of touch on where is good to eat! I'm a bit too old for burger/chicken and chips every night!

Loads of good places to eat in San Antonio and a few great ones! My personal favourite is Es Ventall which serves Ibecenco food in a Nouvelle Cuisine style but in very decent sized portions and costs a fraction of what you would pay for the same standard here in the UK.
There are a couple of good eating places right next to the church- Grill San Antoni and another place that I can't remember the name of that is like a cafe/diner on the corner to the left of the front of the church that serves EXCELLENT deserts such as greixonerra and flao (help me out Stephen!). Rias Baixas serves mainly fish dishes. The Tijuana Mexican restaurant is good but be aware- if you order the baby back ribs you wind up with half a cow on your plate! The Casa China serves cheap and cheerful Chinese food. That's all I can think of off the top of my head for now!

Cheers Padster, whereabouts will I find Es Ventall? I passed Rias Baixas last year when we were in San An for the night and have heard good things about it. I'll give the Curry Club ago again and I've been to David's Pizza which wasn't bad! My mates love Tijuana and I know we'll pay it a nother visit. I do love Sa Capella (can you class this as San An?) and can't wait to go again! Any other tips are greatly appreciated. What do people think of Coastline, Kanya, Itacca for food?

you could also try
es rebost de can prats
el yate
club nautico
which are some of my faves - you can have fun finding them with the odd drink here and there too!

Turn left at the front door of Rias Baixas and it's down that street on the right hand side.

I'm pretty sure there's one called El Patio beside the castle walls in Ibiza town where my wife and I have spent many hours watching the world go by...

Thanks for the recommendations - sounds like a perfect way to spend a couple of evenings...
My favorite Tapas bar in Ibiza is El Zaguan (sp?)- near the port, (sort of) around the corner from the Montesol Hotel - absolutely delicious food, great atmosphere and very busy- hence the food is fresh as can be- also quite reasonably priced, with a nice selection of wines. Loos in Figueretas was ok - nice, simple bar with friendly staff and pretty cheap, although the menu is somewhat limited. Rincon de Pepe in San An was very good both times I've been.

Awesome, I cant believe you mentioned this restaurant. AMAZING. I like you unfortunatly cannot remember the name of it, but will be going to Ibiza for my fourth year, and have been at least twice every year.

Food is great, friendly staff when you try and speak to them with a bit of spanish, and a great overall atmosphere.

I love it
