Today is my Spotlight anniversary of three years...don't ask me how I worked that one out though.
Friday - Went to Walthamstow to spend time with grown up friends.
Saturday - Torture Garden's birthday bash @ SE1. Easily my fave night since getting back from my travels. 3000 freaks all running riot around London bridge (including myself who was dolled up in gimp gear to the tune of £600 with mistress in tow!) Each arena was heavily themed with Burlesque styleeey cabaret, sick twisted performances and strange play rooms (which were hysterical). Sounds bizarre but this really is the friendliest club environment I've ever had the pleasure of being in.
Well worth the shot if you're feeling brave enough and I can guarantee you'll be hooked for life.
Ended up hooking up with an old (& very trashy) friend of mine who took me to a bizarre squat party named 'stunners'. This place opitimises everything I love about East London. It was a warehouse hidden in the middle of a studio complex and hosted by a mad tranny who kept wai'ing at everyone. The crowd was a mix of gender bending freaks - lots of androgynous arty farty punk trash types walking around with faces full of metal, stiletto heels, choppy afro's and trashy DIY wardrobes - some were even strutting around in the nude?!? (allegedly Bjork was there the other week). I met so many characters from the mad Japanese tranny on the coat check to the old man on the decks playing eclectic cheese and talking shite through a muffled microphone. Also met a gorgeous man...lovely but certainly not the boy next door type you'd want to introduce to your parents.
Afterwards, went to a house party in Bethnal Green with some crazy Italians and Spaniards - all really accomodating but at that hour of the night it's hard listening to people waffle sh!t in Catalan/Italian/Spanish.
Feeling VERY vacant today and not sure I ever want to go to a 'normal' club ever again. Have decided to make Stunners my second home...can't wait to move to Bethnal Green!
All in all, another bizarre weekend - & quite possibly the last blow out before homelands.
Sympathy please.
