Weekend Reports!

A varied one from me

Friday - Missus' folks 40th Annivesary. Chinese restaurant followed by a 'show' at a theatre in Luton. Sounds great already, huh? So, it would appear 'The Essence of Ireland' is that famous Celtic classic from 'Titanic' by Celine O'Dion, a bit of Riverdance, an attempt at modernising by banging some bin lids about a la 'Stomp' and getting in a some local plastic kids to do a jig mid show to secure some ticket sales to their parents. 3am finish at theirs, playing the Wii hammered was great.

Saturday - drove home with the missus insisting she has a mystery bug not a hangover!

Played footy in the afternnoon, won 2-18)

X-factor and pizza and relatively early night.

Sunday - footy in the boozer, followed by visit to mates for new baby coo-ing. The X factor and pizza again!

No clubs, no drugs, no dancing, even though I'm not working this week. Must be old!

Friday nothing to report

Saturday, picked up two friends and drove to FLT. Stayed in the Hilton Park Lane and smarmed upgrades to both rooms, one suite. Free drinkies in the Executive lounge then a disappointing lunch in Covent Garden.

Evening entertainment consisted of Ed Byrne live at the Vaudeville on the Strand: 7/10 then late dinner at Belgos where the food was great but we watched the barman opposite our table crack open about 8 bottles of beer for an order which for some reason didn't go out. He then spent the next few minutes re-applying the tops and placing the beers back in the fridge

The night ended at Stringfellows. Enough said.

Long drive home to the West Country on Sunday and nursed a hangover whilst watching the football :(

Friday - played hooky from work in the morning to buy a vintage hat and vest and a new tux shirt. After work, adorned said clothing together with a black suit to attend a costume party in honor of the late Marchesa Luisa Casati. Very random event but loads of fun. The missus and I kept the costumes on and went with our crew to a new club, unfortunately named We Are Family (Disco Hotel), which had quite a fun party going on but cleared out quickly sometime after 4. Stopped for Chinese food on the way home.

Saturday - Lazy day at home. Met the boys for dinner at a hip new place called Beer-Water (Pivo Vody). Then hopped on the nighclub circuit - Garage, followed by a new club called Copenhagen (good venue, good tunes, low turnout), Soho Rooms.

Sunday - Watched football on TV all afternoon, including a rather special game at Stamford Bridge :D 8) Had some pizza delivered. Caught up on eps of Heroes.

Now I hadn't been on a 24+ hour rave assault for months and am decidedly out of practice  Basically, went to the albert & pearl at saturday lunchtime - there was a jumble sale in there (I picked up a pair of maracas, chuffed!) then dinner, then on to the woolpack in bermondsey to meet a man about a dog, then on to cable for Boy's Own - what can I say? a blinding night, not so much for the music, just such a nice crowd and space. Had some ok gear - this stuff meth1 (?) (not methodrone) which is almost identical to mdma but with one compound different meaning it remains legal) Music was generally too cheesy in Norman Jay's room (surprise, surprise) but weatherall was a.m.a.z.i.n.g. stuff you've never heard before tunes featuring helicopters, wailing, strange crackles (not the vinyl!), quite driving throughout but still accessible - a nod to giorgo moroder's the chase at one stage (the new Joris Voorn apparently) then culminating in sabres 'smokebelch' from 93 (david holmes version which just had me losing it) then spencer parker took the music in a super-dark direction occasionally lifting it with tunes of real genius such as river ocean love & happiness (michel cleiss mix) which I'm guessing must've caused a bit of a splash in Ibiza this year, yeah? then it was on to the old blue upstairs (shout to Danny Rampling in the place  ) - that remains the messiest boozer in London, surely  Then on to the griffin, then on to the horse & groom, by which time things were a getting chaotic and I was starting to see rainbows and hear voices and I basically bailed and got the 21 home.

....and that bus takes forever - the entire length of the Old Kent Road.

and then my mother rang up. And I stupidly answered. Jesus Christ.

L/M/F/A/O!!! :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:
would LOVE 2have jumped on that bus olly..... gold!:lol:

i had a HUGE weekend off......
friday: grace darling for some pints.....then a bit of this & that & ended @ a mates place drinking red wine....
satday: slept most of day then went to the rainbow launch! twas well wicked.... that ended @ a mates place @ 3pm sunday:eek: WTF>>>>>???

truely great weekend.... (except for work 2day!):spank:

i can't hear anything.......the music was so loud at amnesia closing.

but soooooooo fcukin good. best party of the summer without doubt, as always.

sun - full night's sleep, woke up about 8/8:30, had some porridge and orange juice, went to amnesia. best clubbing atmosphere ever........save the old space terrace.

luciano played till about 11, all the big tracks of the summer; reboot - pra nizer/caminando, santos - hold home with M83 in church, anthea and celler - caedmon loop, then he ended with octave one blackwater (alter ego mix i think).

then richie hawtin and marco carola played back to back till 4pm........pure boshing techno all the way. so funny to see some people who i know don't even like techno properly going for it and not getting tired of the relentlessness of the beat. he played oh yeah by yello.....and even that kept everyone dancing.

popped over to ushuaia later and it was a proper beach party, turn up with your own beers, free entry for all, dancing on the sand........music was a little grooveless for me, could have done with some of the amnesia sound.

great day.

Friday: Saw Rachel leaving my place by mid noon, then a little latter the Grays arrived for drinks and to spoil my cat. Later on we headed down to Raval and the infamous 52 where we met Rachel. Tapas, beers and laughing cigarretes later we headed to Ambar for drinks, special note to Rachel and Erin unexpected shower in the street (you are too noisy girls ). At Ambar we agreed that spanish bars are smaller but spanish drinks are stronger. Left the Grays in their fancy-posh-porn hotel and me and eventually got home around 4

Saturday: gollumed all day

Sunday: woke up early and fresh, and took my bike to the beaches where I was meeting the Grays. There was the Red Bull Air Force final and a milion spectators expected down the beach (you don't know hwat's a million spaniards alltogheter), so I was exepcting a massive kaos but the show was few beaches further and we had a fantastic, delicious, summery, yummy lunch (not dinner) and after a long after-lunch I said bye to Rob and Erin

Great brit invasion weekend. Keep them coming :D

Another one coming up for El Clasico 8)

Had a great birthday weekend. Gallery was back to it's best. And there was a special aftershow which i won't forget in a while.

Went to Nottingham Friday morn for friends hen do. Bottle of champers was opened before 11am on the way up there :lol:, lots of toilet stops on way so journey prob took a lot longer but we got there early afternoon. Off to Wetherspoons for some cheap lunch. Bride decided to get a tattoo while we was there - the letter M for her husband to be - turned out ok as it goes, very tasteful. Off to comedy club in evening, after a mix up with the booking our table ended up right at the front - cue lots of jokes about Essex girls, fake tans, s**gs - you get the gist  Went clubbing after - got into bed about 530am!

Up Sat for fry up then off to do Its a Knockout - was great fun and surprisingly a good cure for the hangovers! Being out in the fresh air worked wonders. Our team lost but was such good fun. Back to hotel, into our fancy dress outfits then off to TGIs then more bar/pub/club crawling.

Came home yesterday aching, tired, cold is on the way etc etc

Wicked weekend! :p

friday - after work pints , nothing else
Saturday - Had to work during the day then went to the Globe theatre for some shakespeare. Started raining at the end but we had seats so avoided getting soaked. Word of warning - if your sitting it gives you a well sore back! Got soaked legging it to waterloo station on the way back:x
Sunday - Had been put aside for birthday messyness so was on the pints by midday.did the usual brick lane crawl - Big Chill Bar - Cafe 1001 - 93ft East - Curry - T Bar. Jamie Jones was playing a distinctly disco sounding set at T bar. Got home at 4am.
Today- I turn 27 and have a hangover:cry: but i have the day off:)

Happy birthday dude.

One of our group suggested the Globe for our jaunt out on Saturday...

Needless to say he was shouted down quite abruptly and we opted for a potty mouthed Irish comedian.

Aww, happy birthday, mate! :D
Hope you enjoyed your Shoreditch crawl celebration

Cheers yeah was loadsa fun , nice weather and some good parties. Could have done without the drunken curry tho as am about to go for another one with my parents! Is hard to say no with a 20% discount and a free bottle of wine chucked in!
