Hello,

I am trying to access this site from my mobile phone (Nokia 8310) but i've typed in loads of different address and can't get it to come up, does anybody know if it's compatible with my phone??

Thanks :D

Doesn't need to be a WAP site. WAP was developed to be a stripped down version of the WEB when mobile phones were less powerful and data transfer speeds slower.

Many mobile phones can display normal html these days. I'm not sure about the Nokia 8830 but my HP iPaq phone can :) (and my old SonyEricsson could as well). It won't look exactly the same, though.

You'll need to have GRPS or EDGE or some other data access set up for your phone. Then use the regular address.

well my new fangled 3 one wont display anything other than 3 approved content...

:?

I can get anything web based on mine. I think I heard a rumour that 3 dont allow anything which isnt 3 related on their phones?

my mate has that problem too with 3G although he doesnt mind paying for crap video downloads and porn. im sticking with 02 this year and Im gonna get that k750i (currently using k700i, best phone i have ever had) or maybe even that swivvely Nokia (N90??). Anyway, I can access this site in full, although it does take time to load stuff up. As for WAP doubt you'd get it, WAP was very simple text based stuff. Get a new phone!

A new phone is on my christmas list already :D , i guess i'll just have to find an internet cafe in San An to see if i've got any messages.

but funny :D

i remember the days a phone was a phone (and the ringtones sounded like the ice-cream van was coming)

The iMate Jam (or one of 10 other names to the same product manufactured by Taiwan's HTC). Good phone, but getting on a bit. HTC has a new one coming out with a slide-out keyboard that looks hot.

I've got this baby:

The beauty of the Ijam, vpa or whatever other name you call it is that it is so small. For me the PDA like the Dell's, the Ipaq's etc are great but just a bit too big to carry around as a mobile. The new HTC with Keyboard is out here (forget what it's called) but it's a bit larger and for me i'd comprimise a slightly slower performance for the more compact size.
Only thing that annoyed me is having to get a seperate WI FI card.

The iPaq's not so big really... I had a Nokia 9110 and 9210 at some point

Your talking about the PDA2K with the keyboard, which is large and buggy. There's a new HTC phone about the size of the Jam with a keyboard that slides out the side, not the bottom. It'll be out in a couple of months.
