Veteran Clubber, Ibiza virgin

After 20 years of partying in NYC (and beyond) I am finally heading to Ibiza in July...These forums have been very helpful but I am starting to worry that my friends and I may be the oldest people on the island - it seems like there are a lot of postings from 17 year olds asking about the drinking age, etc. I have been told to avoid certain clubs/areas with that younger clientelle. Thus far my plan for the big clubs is: Space-DC10-Pacha...plus lots of bars- Bora Bora, Bar M, Cafe Del Mar...I would appreciate any other suggestions for 30s clubbers.
Thanks

Don't worry about it... many of the regulars on this forum are in their 30s and you'll find plenty of people our age (and older) in any of the bars and clubs.

I think only the younger people post asking about the minimum drinking age because most of the rest of us are not worried about it ;)

You'll probably want to do a night at Amnesia and maybe even Privelege (so you can see what the "world's largest club" looks like). Other bars to check out include Cafe Mambo and Kumharas for sunsets. We often pop over to the Ibiza Town harbor area for pre-party action (Base, k*ube, etc.).Tantra in Playa den Bossa often has some decent prices on club tickets (don't buy tickets at the door!)

party people on IBIZA....nobody is to old for this island
:) :)

...it's about time....

...to get over here Brooklyn boy !
Saved the best for the middle of your clubbing life, did you?:D

Morbid gave you already the laydown...and after a great night at Pacha you'll have to admit that the NYC Pacha isn't even a shadow of the original !!

Here the usual warning: watch out Ibiza makes addictive!

cheers

Kathy

What blew me away about Pacha the first time I was there was how age did not matter at all. There people from 17-65 there all getting down! I saw grandparent looking couples dressed to impress and dancing cheek to cheek in the mainroom, and then I saw a dad trying to convince the doorman to let his 17 year old son in...lol!
Age is just a number in Ibiza, it is all about how young your heart and soul is!

Thanks for your responses/input...I am so excited about this trip- usually I don't even start thinking about my vacation until 2-3 weeks before...here I am months away already getting hyped! I have been going out here in NY a bit more than usual, making sure my body will not be too shocked by the 24 hour/Sunday-Monday Space-DC 10 marathon...

Now you know how all us regulars feel... we start dreaming about the next trip as soon as the previous one finishes!

Training is a good idea... must get your stamina up. ;)

hey

hi, dsnt seem like some of the older generation of clubbers are to keen on us young ones. Im only 16, and was wondering what the legal age to enter the clubs and to drink was. Im very keen on going. I have dreamt of the day i go since i went to my first underage club in Melbourne, Australia. Im turkish, and going to Turkey next year in June, so i was hoping the age limit would be 17 so i could go while i was there.

If anyone could tell me please email me , Aslaan_@hotmail.com

or post :) thnxx

The age limit is officially 18 but it shouldn't be an issue as you'll see here: http://www.spotlight-forums.com/showthread.php?t=34701

There is no "right" age for Ibiza, just a right state of mind. I'll be 43 next month and I only started going to Ibiza in my early 30s and became hooked. Now I go to Ibiza 3-4 times a year during the season, even staying 3 weeks during the dreadful August overload.
My experience is the younger, less mature crowd hang out at places like Es Paradis and Eden (although I have only been to Es Paradis once some 5 years ago and never set foot in Eden - just judging by the line ups and crowds outside).
I usually hand with a group that ranges in age from 18-65! And we are all out till the wee hours of the morning. Some not every night, others every night and day.
This being said, there are different scenes in Ibiza. Sophisticated, jet-set (older though not exclusively so) crowd that all frequent the usual spots and the pasty looking beer boys from England who can't handle their alcohol, wear football jerseys and are aggressive (fights). And in between you have a lot of variety!
You shouldn't feel uncomfortable in the clubs because of your age! No one cares as long as you are having a good time!

When I first went about 5 years ago I was 28 and when my friends said we were going I thought WTF?... though I was an experienced clubber in London I had a totally misrepresented ´Kevin & Perry` view of Ibiza to be totally honest.

5 years and about a dozen or so trips later and I still cannot stop the feeling of excitement I get as the summer arrives and I start thinking about getting out there.

One of the most beautiful things about Ibiza is that age, colour, race, religion, language etc, etc is just completely irrelevant. You meet so many cool people of all different varieties brought together for a common reason.

And in any case like many things, Ibiza gets better with age in my personal opinion.

So don´t worry about a thing, you´ll absolutely love it I am sure and your plans look pretty solid in any case.
