"Loving Ibiza

On the island where the near fifty want to be thirty (;)), the thirty something want to be twenty (8)), and the hipsters are out of control :)lol:), an ensemble of characters fall in love with the wrong men, the right people and with Ibiza.
In short

Eleven people, four storylines and one island. Everyone comes to Ibiza with separate expectations, but in the end they all face the same challenges. In a lighthearted and comical fashion, four couples get a taste of the universal desire to be something that's no longer feasible :p ... :(. And they will have to figure out what comes in its place.
Synopsis

Ibiza! The ultimate party island. The whitest beaches, biggest clubs, famous DJ's and beautiful people. What could be a better place to organize a glamorous wedding than this paradise?

Kevin is a young footballer who recently made a multimillion deal by transferring to FC Barcelona :)roll:). He hardly realizes what is happening to him. Too young, too rich, too beautiful :)roll::rolleyes:). His girlfriend Elza knows how Kevin should spend his millions :p. She is eagerly anticipating her birthday where Kevin will ask her the most important question of all. Kevin's mother Karla observes it all from the sidelines with concern .

Fortunately there is the down-to-earth event planner Lizzy who shows Kevin the meaning of true love.:lol::lol:

The recently divorced Jacky and her neighbor Irma – both in their forties – arrive on the island. Jacky is up for it: lifted and botoxed she tells Irma that she cannot wait to score a hot young guy :twisted::twisted::twisted:. She's alive! Irma is of a different opinion. She is looking forward to a quiet holiday on the beach with Dr. Zhivago :)roll:). Until someone more real gets her heart racing… :p:p

Former rock star Lex invites his three daughters to Ibiza to celebrate his 65th birthday. Lex has never been a very present father to the three half-sisters Zara (35), Lizzy (26) and Bibi (19). When Zara's husband Pim is seduced by Bibi (:eek:), Lex finally gets a chance to fulfill his fatherly role.:eek::eek::eek::eek:

The brothers Dylan and Boyd dream of becoming a world class DJ-duo :lol:. They come to the island to give their music to the famous DJ Armin van Buuren. But how do you get to one of the biggest DJ's of the world? Their best friend Lars tries to help them reach their goal. In the end Dylan and Boyd seem to be aided more by a good dose of good luck and an unexpected twist of faith.

All lines converge in the hip club where Armin van Buuren performs as a DJ. Will Jacky find love with a young lover, or with her teenage sweetheart? Will Kevin choose for a life with the beautiful gold-digger Elza? And will Zara's marriage survive the escapades of husband Pim?

We will all experience this in the film Loving Ibiza. A feel good movie for all ages. A film filled with sunshine, humor, adventure and human insights."

[... well Mamma Mia, what a good old B-movie plot that is if ever I saw one ... ]

Successful Film

The red carpet was rolled out for the first showing of the Dutch film which was shot in Ibiza last year, entitled in the original Verliefd op Ibiza, which translates to "Loving Ibiza" in English. The local premiere was held in Cine Serra in the original language in the larger auditorium and with English subtitles in the smaller cinema; not surprisingly, both Vicent Roig, Trade and Industry Councillor and Carmen Ferrer, the Tourism Councillor, chose the latter. The film, directed by Johan Nijenhuis, tells the story of holiday romances and was shot in various locations on the Island, including La Marina, Dalt Vila, Cala Conta, es Vedrá, Cala Salada and night spots such as Privilege and Ushuaïa. It premiered in Holland at the end of January and received glowing reviews from the Dutch press; in fact in just three days it was awarded a "Golden Film" award, which signified that more than 100,000 people had paid to see it, although the producers are confident that they will also receive the Platinum award, which means that an audience of more than 400,000 has visited cinemas to see the film. Excellent free publicity for the Island!
