Agassi pulled off a 5 set win over Marco Baghdatis, 6-4, 6-4, 3-6, 5-7, 7-5, last night. :D :D

I thought he was doomed when he didn't get seeded. Would be great to see him go out on top. Class act.

Great to see the legend go through 8) . Whos side of the draw is he on, Nadals or Federer's?

Either way I think he'll probably lose when he faces either of those two.

Agassi is in the bottom half of the draw with Nadal. It would be very tough for him to make it through to the final but, if he gets past his next match and then possibly Andy Roddick in the 4th round and Lleyton Hewitt in the quarters, could be a great semifinal match. That's a big IF, of course, but it'd be really nice to see.

In other news, Hingis is out. How about that...

Sad to see Agassi's final goodbye, a legend in the game, plus seemingly a very nice chap too 8)

Definitely a sad event. In his last match, you could just see his body wasn't holding up anymore. All the fun is gone when you need 3 cortisone shots just to play.

I was up all night watching matches on Sunday and Monday (Serena lost :( Sharapova won :D). Roddick looks like he's in good shape as does Blake. Nadal and Federer dominant as ever. Hewitt typically lucky to escape...

i wasnt the one nearly bursting in tears of joy just cos Sasha played a good set

haha, i knew you'd think i was talking about you!  i meant agassi, hombre;)

btw - what do you mean in the above comment by "nearly" and "good", those words don't correspond to my recollection of the nights events.

sorry scrap the word nearly, and then substitute the word good with "heavenly" ;)

Nadal out! 8O 8O 8O

Just watched the match. Youzhny played an amazing game and Nadal looked tired and a bit off kilter. Misha is one of those players (not unlike Marat Safin) who has great potential never quite realized, aside from that famous Davis Cup victory in France. Still, definitely not expected.

Now I just hope James Blake can pull something off versus Federer :!:

My evening last night couldnt have been much worse..

Saw Spain embarassing themselves in Windsor Park and then saw Nadal lose to Youzhny    :( :(

Saw the match too, Nadal had THREE set points when it was 1-1 set all.. that was the key, once he lost the 3rd set tie break it was all over

the sports reader on TVe this morning looked suicidal!  they kept referring to the 1-1 draw with cyprus under clemente.

Amazing fightback by Youzhny in that game. down 0-40, but it was on his own serve so it's not as improbable as it would have been if Nadal was serving.

Youzhny was solid, had a few amazing shots, and was very mobile, but I think the key was his relatively low level of unforced errors.

Just because you can't watch a sporting event and provide your own analysis without outside asistance, don't wrongly assume the same is true for me :p ;)

what a daft thing to say, (even if it is a joke), seeing how for nearly every sporting event that comes up i actually do what you're saying i can't do.

suppose its just more of that "finger lickin-good ol' uncle sam's mob's humour"
;)
