Tribute Bands ?

I think its our duty to hate tribute bands.

Musicians that make easy money by pretending to be someone else - a kind of ripped off karaoke.

However, having said that I've seen some crackers : The Australian Doors (The Doors) , the Wizzards of Oz (Black Sabbath) and I've got tickets to see Off the Wall (a Pink Floyd tribute ) next week.

Anyone seen any decent tributes ?

Should we tolerate them as harmless fun or should we stalk them and bring to their knees in shame as they clog up music venues and stop original bands from playing as the promotors make a fast, easy few quid ?

I wouldn't have much time for tribute bands but there can be the odd exception. The Complete stone roses played at Oxygen last summer and were quality...

Oh yeah , I have seen a Stone Roses tribute too , also a Cure one and a Jam tribute.

I have seen more than I thought , I think I must be addicted

if you go to see one then you deserve everything you get!!

(i went to an abba one under pressure from the family, torture!!)
