Travellers Cheques

Think i've asked this before on here but forgot to look for answers, where is the best place to change t.cheques in San An?? And what % do they charge?

Just wandering whether to take t.cheques or just come out with the bank card. The paranoia of the bank card going missing is swaying me towards t.cheques but we were ripped off by our hotel on these last year BIG TIME.

Any advise would be appreciated.

VISA. make a note of the card details, number etc so if you do lose it you can still get money through Western Union. Tell your bank you're going abroad too

There are always plenty of place to change chqs. I've only ever paid 1% commission. If you have £ chqs some bank might not charge but the rate won't be great.
With Debit/credit cards just remeber your bank or card issuer will generally charge you a fee each time you take out cash. I think most major credit card co's charge 1.5% - 2.5% with a minimum fee of around £2/3. The exchange rate you get is usually good though. As for purchases I've been charged by the bank when using Visa Delta but my Visa credit card was OK.
