Too expensive for 8 nights in Ibiza???

I need to reassure a friend that we aren't spending too much given the situation. We are paying $688USD each for a Atzaro apt in Playa den Bossa in mid August. Originally, the room was booked for 3 people at $555 each but since we now have a 4th person coming we had to get another apartment and have 2 people in each.

I'm curious how much people from the US are spending on their week in Ibiza. Also, any other nice hotels/apartments suggestions would be appreciated. Those that are accomodate 4 to a room is preferrable.

688USD sounds very close to what I'm paying in Canadian dollars for roughly the same amount of time......I'm paying just a bit more cuz I'm actually there for 10nights.....Not to worry.....sometimes you'll find a really cheapie price but it won't be anywhere near where you wanna be...that total sounds perfectly normal to me!

I'm from the USA, and I was there last Summer for four days three nights.

$688 for 8 nights 8O - that is more than what my brother pays for the apartment he lives in on a lake in a NY town called Canadaguia- and that is per MONTH!

I spent about $300 just for those nights. That is Everything included, minus ferry trips. I brought about $600 but only spent half of it. I don't know how much of it was spent on lodging, I was way too drunk most of the time to seperate what we spent on what. :D

We stayed at a campsite. I don't remember where (the Alcohol again plus the fact the name was in some funny foreign language :D ) But the accomidation was Ok... Showers, full bar, places to hand-wash your clothes, the staff understood American-ish alright... the only thing that sucked is the fact that I was sweating like Mike Jackson in an Elementary school when I woke up- it was like 107 degrees at night. :x

 Get the three person apartment and sneak the fourth person in when the Landlord isn't looking- make him sleep on the couch or something

The Atzaro Apartments look lovely and from what you're saying the price you're paying is alright.

I certainly wouldn't worry!

I don't understand what that has to do with anything? I pay 2200 a month for rent...

But to get to your statement. I don't think that is too much at all. I am leaving next Friday, spent 1100 for the flight, and 2000 for the hotel. Plus I am bringing 2000 for spending money.

I've just come back from staying at the Atzaro apts. They are quite nice in comparison to what I have seen of jet. You will find that you can sleep four in an apt. I had a single bedroom twin share which had two singles, a couch and a pull out cot under the couch. Go with what Dual_Life said and sneak in the fouth person. They will never know cause the apts are at the back of the La Noria site.

Also if u are getting a cab from the airport, tell them to take u to La Noria apts. We told them Atzaro and they got lost

As for money, I went with $2500 (Australian) spending money and only spent about half. We didn't eat breaky (only just got in), sandwiches/cereal for lunch (getting up) and cooked up pasta for 6 of our 10 nights there. You will be spending more on the clubs though cause u r going later in the season.

Any questions, pm me b :D

ive so far spent $1200 for plane ticket and travel insurance. i spent $997 for 9 nights at hotel puchet. and i plan on taking $2000 - $2500 for spending money.

dang thats alot of money!

Well, it must be quite a bit away from NYC because you couldn't even find a outer borough apartment for that much :P I would love to pay that much.

I'm not sure about the other thing as we don't want to take any chances with not being able to find a place to accomodate us all.

Thanks for the tips and reassuring the fact that we did pick a nice place to stay :) Our main draw to Atzaro is because of the full kitchen. We want to try to save as much as possible by cooking for ourselves whenever we can.

Thanks to everyone else who replied :)

I also just got back from 11 nights at Atzaro. I paid a total of $110 a night (92 euros) for two, but June is not considered high season.

The location is not bad... it's quiet except for the planes flying in, but you have that problem anywhere in Play den Bossa. After staying in San Antonio bay and Talamanca, I have to say that I enjoyed the convenience of PdB, with Bora Bora and Space nearbly and short trips to the Ibiza harbor, Pacha, El Divino. There's also a decent sidestreet near Atzaro with some bars, breakfast places and food/liquor shops.

On the downside:
- you've got to put deposits in (a few euros) to get a/c and TV remote controls, as well as for an outside phone line.
- The kitchenette doesn't have a microwave - just a toaster oven.
- I didn't notice a cot under the sofa so I'm not sure about that 4th person.
- They clean the rooms infrequently (once every other day or two)
- You have to walk about 2.5 extra blocks to get out to the main street because they fenced off the property. The upside there is that you should be able to sneak that 4th person in because there is no real surveillance back in that part of the 3-hotel compound.

For us, Atzaro was o.k. but not sure if we'll stay there again. Nevertheless, you should enjoy your trip.

FYI, I just worked out that, according to their posted rates, one 3-person room should cost you 180 Eur a night, which for 8 nights works out to about 360 Eur ($432) a night per person for 4 people.

What I was saying is that I would find it hard to pay more for an apartment for only 8 days than I pay for my monthly living expense.

That's all.

I'm surprised you spent $1200 for a plane ticket! 8O You should have bought a cheap roundtrip ticket to London for about $600 and then it would only cost you around $150 roundtrip from there to Ibiza. Sure, you'd have to stop off in London, but it would be worth it to save the money.

amazingly enough I couldn't get one. I had to fly into Madrid, then to Ibiza... I think it was about 1125 to be exact.

yea me to. i looked into that going from london to spain to ibiza. all booked or prices are the same. so im going to go straight from PA to madrid to ibiza round trip.

That's really strange b/c I am flying rountrip to London for $600 and then I'm going to buy a plane ticket to go to Ibiza later, but I know you can fly EasyJet or BMI for around $150 return. That sucks that you guys had to spend more than that. :? Oh well, it'll be worth it either way! ;)

I'm heading to Ibiza in september from Phoenix, AZ area and was able to get $398 direct round trip to London and then $99 direct round trip to Ibiza... about $500 which includes taxes. :!: :) Incredible deal, but I got quite lucky with it purchasing far ahead of time on some 2-day sales British Airways was running.

Will be there for 7 nights and figuring about $400 in hotel costs, including half board... and going alone, not sharing a room. Gran Sol Hotel & Fiesta Hotel PDB looked good to me for cheap accomodations in good spots... after much thought...

Don't have exact idea on what spending $$ I'm bringing though... :?

That's what I was talking about! Good job fiz! ;) If you like to drink bring plenty of spending money b/c drinks are extremely expensive. Just for a bottle of water in a club, you pay 10 euros sometimes. And, then of course you need plenty of money for the cover charges and stuff. I didn't really spend a lot on food while I was there, b/c I didn't really eat, but I wouldn't recommend doing that (not exactly the healthiest plan, but it does save money!) :? ;)

We just got back from the garbi hotel we got all 4 of us in one hotel lot but paid 4 two rooms. We paid 900CAD for 10 days each but granted those days were in july and not august. Great hotal but you need to keep the noise down at around 12 pm and later we recieved many a strict warning from the night manager.
