Since the start of the academic year, I have been part of the Music Team at LSRfm.com. We held a show every Tuesday from midday till 2pm, entitled "There's Nothing Cool About Tuesdays". We played a variety of music, both from the playlist and from our own collections, and broadcast various features as well. Since I had lectures during those times, I worked on pre-recorded features such as jingles, Guess The Intro, a Bluffer's Guide to Disco and a house and techno mix.
Here's the recording of the 15th November show: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=09SZOQQA (110 MB, 128kbps MP3).
This featured a couple of my jingles and the first instalment of "Guess The Intro". The only problem was that for some reason we weren't able to broadcast the intros over the studio monitors, so the two teams were crowded round two pairs of headphones. Even though I was in the studio on that occasion, I wasn't sure which track they were listening to at any given time!
Here's the recording of the show from last Tuesday, 6th December: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=7ADUYHSK (103 MB, 128kbps MP3).
This featured the second instalment of "Guess The Intro", with considerably easier jingles as they said the ones in the first instalment were too difficult. Mind you, I was surprised they didn't get "Ruby Tuesday".
The show also played my 10 minute house and techno mix. This was the tracklisting:
1. Eddie Amador - "House Music (Deep Dish Body & Soul Mix)"
with Antoine Clamaran - "House Kiss" mashup
(Lil Louis - "French Kiss" backing vs. Mr Fingers - "Can You Feel It" vocal)
3. Frankie Knuckles - "Your Love"
with Vitalic - "You Prefer Cocaine"
5. Alison Limerick - "Where Love Lives (Frankie Knuckles Classic Mix)"
6. Sean Biddle - "Little Cafe (DJ Vitamin D Remix)"
7. Rasmus Faber - "Get Over Here (Original Mix)"
8. The Sunburst Band - "He Is (Album Version)"
9. The Sunburst Band - "He Is (Joey Negro Mix)"
10. Kerri Chandler - "Bar A Thym"
11. DJ Rolando a.k.a. The Aztec Mystic - "Jaguar"
with Tomaz vs. Filterheadz - "Sunshine"
My apologies for the poor beatmatching: I mixed it in ACID Pro which I rarely use for DJing work.
I have already recorded the Bluffer's Guide To Disco and I am set to record a Bluffer's Guide To House. I have also just finished a second house and techno mix (which may well feature a tune named after a vodka by two chaps named Mark and Damon 8) ). All these features are going to be broadcast when the show returns next semester.
Hope you enjoy the shows!
