damn :(

did they say why? :?
Yep. Even though I scored within the top 10% of people to ever take the tests, it wasnt my skills, it was ME!!! Nice way to put somebody already hovering, right over the edge eh?

At least you know you have the skills, and that's a big tick in the box - If they say they think you weren't suitable then you probably wouldn't have enjoyed working with them!!

Go onto the next interview knowing you're going to be one of the most capable candidates, and it's just down to whether you, and the company are a good 'match'

:)

They can't do that- they are legally required to provide a reference. I would write to them reminding them of this and suggesting that you will be taking legal advice if they don't comply.

I checked it out. Legally they cant give a bad reference but they dont have to give one at all. He would have given me a bad one if he didnt think Id have his ass over the coals for it. Likewise he cant give me a good one because again, id have his ass for firing me for no good reason. Hopefully now they've gone bust I might have a bit more luck. Proves to new employers that it probabally wasnt my capabilities but the fact that the company couldnt afford me.

I was there 6 months so far too long to miss it off my cv. I would ask someone else to give a reference but what if it got found out? My ass would be out of my new job without my feet touching the ground lol

you wont get found out, basically it's not a case of someone writing a reference anymore, it's just a tick sheet with approx half a dozen questions on it, no room or need for elaboration, just give the name of an ally/allie (sp??) where you used to work and say they were your manager, or better still say they have gone bust but you still have home address of your old boss??

as for 6mths being to long...far from it, dont mention the place, say you took some time off, went travelling or that you worked where you worked prior to there a few months longer??

play clever...not hard
