The original Ibiza Virgin

Hi,

I have never been abroad before and I thought it would be time to bite the bullet. I have booked a week away in San Antonio Bay, Ibiza at the end of September. I have read the forums and the spotlight website in great detail which has made me even more excited than ever. I'm 27 and my partner is 23 and I was wondering if anyone has stayed at the Hotel Hawaii in the bay area. I have read the reviews on sptlight but they seem to be a little outdated. Taking around £1200 for us both for the week and it can't come soon enough. Role on 24th Sept!!

Hello and welcome :D

I stayed at Hawaii but it was a good few years ago, it is located in the Bay so you are far enough away from San An Town but all the bars are only a short walk away.

The hotel is quite family orientated but you will also get young couples there, the rooms are of decent size and I assume you're doing half board the food is pretty good :D

Any ideas what you're going to do when you get there??

My partner and I (29, 27) are going to Ibiza on Sunday and staying at the Hotel Hawaii. It is in a perfect situation - only a 5 minute walk to Bar M and far enough away from San An., the views will be lovely and sometimes if you are lucky your balcony will have a view of the sunset. I havent stayed there before but know where it is situation - I will fill you in on how it goes when we come back

Excellent thank you....

In terms of what we are going to do, I have been reading the forum and theres so much. Hippy Markets, Sights and views, Boat trips and maybe even a few clubs.

Whatever you do you won't fail to have a good time :D

Hola Toobad,

If you are up for a boat trip I recommend you to take the ferry to Formentera and spend a day in the small island.

From what I hear, the beaches are amazing there.

One question, I was planing on taking all the money from the bank day before I leave and exchanging it all for Euro's before setting off for the airport. The plan being to hire a safety deposit box and take out what we need on a day to day basis.

Now reading some of the posts it looks like the best method is to use a debit card. I have a Halifax Via Electron card, how does this work. When you go to a machine do you see your balance on screen in sterling or euro's?

Check with your bank before you go about charges when you use cash machines out there cos some banks sting you everytime you take money out.

On the cash machines you can press whether you want to see everything in Spanish, English, German etc.

Sorry for all the n00b questions but one more...

What is 5htp?

No worries, ask away ;)

5 HTP is a herbal supplement that you can buy in Health Shops, it increases your serotin levels if you've been out clubbing so you avoid comedowns ;)

I think I shall stop talking about Formentera, it's third time today that someone says something similar

Dash, I get 10 €uros for each formentera comment I do but shhhhht

Check out the map from this website attached and work out where your hotel is and follow the yellow route along to the Marina - when you get to a restaurant called Villa Mercedes you can cut between some of the buildings there and follow the signposts on the lamposts for your favourite sunset bar!!

OR you can jump a taxi prob cost you about 6-7€

That's an understatment!
Although I did get into the 'Okey-Cokey' by the end of my holiday, humming it away for minutes. (I stayed upwind last year).

Good to know, I was wondering the same thing, never been to Ibiza myself neither. :D

Toobad, where are you from? Ibiza is not a bad place to start your foreign ventures at ;)
