ORANGE CORNER the former Kiwi beach bar adjacent to Bar M in San Antonio – plans to concentrate less on club pre-parties, more on unique and one-off events this year, a move they started last summer. Established and ‘up and coming' UK promotions take over the bar for the day/night, with their own DJ's and style. It’s a great opportunity for smaller promotions to get a break on the island and therefore makes the bar a very interesting and often surprising place to visit. So far confirmed for 2005 are Disciples of Sound and their new Red Recordings label, The Honey from The Honeyclub in Brighton, Tickled Pink - who host the back room at Pacha, London on a regular basis, Hunch from Emporium in Coleville, Brighton Rocks from Turnmills and… Well, far more to come. Refresh, the London event from Islington and After Dark from Edinburgh are each hosting their own weekly parties at the bar, as last season. Resident Orange Corner DJ Sean Hughes has been taking part in Norman Jay’s 'Good Times' tour around the UK, offering a very eclectic mix of beats, breaks, soul, old skool hip hop and house. Main resident Jamie Gittins is also events manager - his 4th summer at the bar. Each Wednesday a Gurn.net party is broadcast live from the bar over the net for six hours. (source: UH)

as posted in the bars in san antonio thread, it reopened at the beginning of may and during the last week they have been hosting a dj competition to find a new resident for the bar!!

The Orange Corner, pre-club, Beach Bar & Restuarant, San Antonio's Beach Promenade (2-4 Adva Dr Fleming), Ibiza...

This summer is looking really promising for The Orange Corner with some great parties and DJ's lined up, plus a new collaboration with one of Ibiza's premier clubs!

The bar is now an Official pre-bar and ticket outlet in for Pacha. Pacha residents Sarah Main & Andy B will be popping in regularly to play as well as the odd 'suprise guest!!' The spectacular Pacha parades will be visiting each evening (except wed) at the bar, so expect gorgeous girls and crazy guys to help the evening start off in style!!

Every Tuesday gurn.net will be hosting a party 4pm-midnight. The usual Gurn zanny'ness is expected, and we should be having some great fun!! A whole host of guest DJ's are lined up to play, including Oliver Lang, Sonny Wharton, Gordon Edge, Vicky Devine, Disciples of Sound, Scott Martin, Reece (Holland) & Danny Graham (KuJay DaDa/Solo records Ibiza). Each week will be broadcast live through gurn.net for any one back at home who can't make the party, including interviews with each dj etc! The shows will be archived on the site for anyone who missed them!! A real veriety of music will be showcased throughout the day, with the last few hours sure to be the dirtiest Electro house possible!!

We welcome back the Garlands pre-party each Wednesday. I'm sure we'll have the renowned Garlands madness, DJ's, Entertainers & more!! Last years Garlands closing pre-party was as busy as Radio 1 weekend for the bar!! Big Funky house mixed up with seasoned classics will keep the scouse posse dancing on the wall!!

Sunday evenings will be taken over by the 'Housewives Choice' crew, as their main Ibiza residency with residents Gareth Oldreive & Charlie Jacket, Special Guests, rubber gloves and clothes pegs!! House of a funky/electro flavour is the order of the night on sundays.

The rest of the weeks spaces will be taken over by various promoters & labels from the UK, who are either on a tour or just in Ibiza to host a party at the O.C. These include Honey (Honeyclub,Brighton), Refresh (London), After Dark (Edinburgh), Jumpstart records, Disciples of Sounds new Red Recordings, Hunch (Emporium, Colville), Tickled Pink (Pacha, London), the Immaculate Boys and Brighton Rocks (London). All bringing with them their own DJ's, brand of production and flavour of what they have going on back home...

The Orange Corner is open from 10am - 2am, serving fabulous food & Cool cocktails on the terrace and beach everyday...

There's no dress code, (as its a beach bar!!) and no cover charge (free entry), capacity is 120 seated with plenty of room also to stand at the bar/s or the tall tables...

The summer's looking great over in Ibiza and especially for The Orange Corner,which has become very popular of late! A great many of Ibiza's party promoters, DJ's & movers & shakers can be seen each day / night down at the bar, soaking up the relaxed atmosphere!! And already we have had some great parties down at the bar, with many more to follow!

At the start of the summer we had said we weren't going to have club pre-parties, but we have been offered 2 very good parties who make a real effort with their pre-parties, so we have taken on board Garlands on wednesday and Dusted on fridays. Both parties bring their parades etc down to the bar and some of their class DJ's (& Bez for Dusted!), to warm you up nicely for the short walk down the road to Eden for the main event. Oliver Lang will be playing weekly on fridays, and will be joined by 'Special Dusted guests', while Dave Booth and Les Calvert are keeping Garlands crew happy on wednesdays!!

The live gurn.net parties each tuesday have been going down a treat!! With some big names already having played and loads to come too, including Gordon Edge (Subliminal / edge records), Baby J (BondiFM - Sydney), Vicky Devine, Oliver Lang, Sonny Wharton, Scott Martin, Reece (Holland) & Danny Graham (KuJay DaDa/Solo records Ibiza). Choon in at www.gurn.net every tues 4pm - midight (ibiza time) or pop down to the bar to experience first hand!!

Again the One Off parties have been rockin, with the rest of the summer already chock a block with promoters from the UK and Holland coming across to host parties at the bar! These include Red Sessions (Disciples of Sound), Honey (HoneyClub), Tickled Pink (Pacha London), Funkie Junkie, Funkology Records (Derby), Immaculate Touch (Immaculate Boys), Toast (Manchester) and a whole host of other reprobates!!

The popular Housewives Choice have taken over the hosting of sunday nights. The Leeds night is known as a hard house night back home, but are concentrating more on funky & electro House styles while over in Ibiza, to give their 2nd room in Stinky's Peephouse more promotion...

Resident DJ's Sean Hughes & Jamie Gittins supply Funky & Dirty/Electro house at all other times...

Daytimes at the bar are as popular as ever, with sunbathing beauties out on the 60+ sunbeds on the beach out front of the bar, enjoying the music and cool fresh cocktails! There's beach waiter service too, so you don't even have to get up to go to the bar for food or drink!!

Delicious food is served from Breakfast through Lunch & Dinner til 1am. The Orange Corner has the longest most open terrace, to make you truly feel you're on holiday, while you sit under a palm tree sipping a mojito!!

We are open 10am - 2am, 7 days a week, with no cover charge at any time...
