Balearic, Chill Out & Sunset Music

Some Sussex-based pals who go by the name BAOL are packing it in after 15 years and currently posting up some musical memories on their FB page. Well worth getting involved if you're into all this. Nice crowd. https://www.facebook.com/groups/BalearicAssassinsofLove Steve on there still does a weekly radio show on 1BTN and gets regular guests in. Coyote did last week's and I think they might be airing something I did for them in a couple of weeks (TBC)

Also currently feeling this selection of mellow house from one of New York's finest

Have you heard old leather pants Robert Plant's version of Song to the Siren?
Also brought to mind some old pals of mine from Bath, then trading under the name DNA. They did something with that Vega song, couldn't remember what exactly so went back in time, early 90s, turns out it's only added beats and a few mild brass stabs. Nice enough at the time....

No will give a listen.

I was a big fan of DNA! Are they still making music?
There's been many, many versions of that siren song, Plant's is a particular favourite of mine. Perhaps I should have said, go back to the original writer, Tim Buckley. As for DNA, I've completely lost track, have to have a dig around when I've got some time. La Serenissima!

Scottish folky, James Yorkston does a great celtic sounding version. He once played it for me at a small gig by request!

If you like This Mortal Coil's version, check its use in David Lynch's Lost Highway...
