Tennis fans - advice needed

Right, so I'm thinking about buying tickets for the Davis cup semifinal between Russia and the US. Blake, Roddick, Safin, Davydenko, the Bryan brothers, Youzhny...should be fun.

so, the question is: should I take a day off on and go to the first day, or go on the third day (Sunday)? The third day could be lame if everything is decided by then, or it could be the gripping deciding match. :?

go on the day when they play the doubles......(1st day i think) cos entertainment wise thats much better. get a much better sense of the team aspect to the event.

and like you say, both teams will be going for it from the off in an attempt to make the last day a non-event.

but I thought the doubles are on day 2 (Saturday). I think they do singles on days 1 and 3, no?

the question is...

why are go in the first place?

say what?:?
Just what I thinking

I just found the official Russian site. It's 2 singles matches on Friday, 1 doubles match on Saturday and 2 singles on Saturday. I think I'll go Sunday and just hope that they go into the day with a score of 2-1 so that the games matter.

Good question... whatever happens the 2nd day will be crucial, but it may not be pivital, plus doubles is a bit lame really.

Defo risk if for the final day, its highli unlikely it will be 3-0 by the 2nd day.. Davis Cup is brilliant, just hope you dont get beaten up with your american flag ;)

Fortunately, I think tennis fans aren't quite as dangerous as spectators at some other sports
(but I think I'll leave the flag at home!)

you won't be saying that when someone splats you with a strawberry and cream merengue or smacks you with a salmon and cucumber buttie.:p
