Right, i want to be able to record my mixing to CD. Have heard that you can get a lead that goes from laptop to Stereo and then need a package to record it to on comp?

Is it expensive? Can i get it free on net?

Cheers

Sound Forge rules. That's what I use as well.

It is to a point, however, it does use heavy CPU resources and is a bit over the top for just recording, especially if you're recording onto the same computer that is outputting the music...........and legit it costs money. :roll:

A better solution is Audiograbber, used by loads of DJ's around the world, best of all it's freeware. :P It was mainly designed to rip CD's to the hard drive, and fills in the artist names and titles from an internet database, but, it also has an audio 'line in' facility. I record my newly purchase vinyl every week with it, as well as any CD's I buy. Sometimes I record my 4 1/2 hour gigs with it in the background and my DJ program never hiccups with it. :D

It's here;

Have fun. :D

Tried all what has been said, but the sound doesn't seem to be being picked up by my comp!?!?! :evil:

I can record my mix to MD, using my stereo, but how can i convert MD to CD?

If you can record to minidisk, then the same outputs the wires are connected to should be used to record to the computer, although these will probably be 2 phono's. You will probably need to get from 2 phono's to a mini stereo jack for the laptop mic/line in.

Check that your soundcard is set right. Go into Control Panel/Sounds and Audio Devices/Volume/Advanced. Then at the top of the screen Options/Properties click the recording button, then check that the line in is ticked.

Hope this helps. :)
