Right, can anyone tell me how to get my video ipod to play my mix cds non stop.....it keeps putting breaks inbetween the tracks....can't work out how to do it.....its doing my head in!

you can do it, but it will store it as one track and you won't be able to skip to individual tracks. Before you upload the tracks onto your computer select them all and under one of the options on the toolbar (can't remember which sorry) you'll find the option to 'link tracks'.

So annoying that they can't seem to figure out how to enable gap-free play. I keep waiting for a firmware update for my iPod Mini but I don't think Apple really cares.

This 'link tracks' nonsense is a band-aid, not a real solution

it's nothing to do with apple, it's because when you encode mp3s they automatically put a few milliseconds of silence at the end for some reason - not sure why.

My new iPod plays tracks back with a much smaller gap between tracks than my old one though, which is nice.

Apple should try and sort it out tho, especially considering the money you pay for it!

Sure it's not that difficult!

It's on all mp3 players unfortunately.

Someone might fix it in the future

That's not true. I'm not sure what encoding program you're using... perhaps iTunes? I never use iTunes to encode... use CDex.

I set WinAmp to play without gaps and it's no problem. You should be able to do the same with your mp3 player. It is fixable.

Don't suppose anyone can recommend any easy to use software to put my dvds onto my ipod?
I have a program called Procorder which re-encodes video very well and quite fast. You just need to pick an output format that's compatible with the iPod (Mpeg 4, I believe)
