Sooooo whats it actually like ?

Hi guys,

A quick question for you all.... My gf and I are going to Ibiza in just over 3 weeks and we aren't really too sure on what to expect !

Can anyone shed some light on if it will be a good holiday for a couple etc ? we wil be out there for our 2 year anniversary which should be pretty cool !

We basically want to go to a few bars, catch some sunrays & visit the water park and eat loads in the restaurants...

We are staying in De Bossa (spelling) i think it is over looking the pool / beach etc

Your views and thoughts would be appreciated as im used to Tenerife having lived there and been there 25 times

yes i think you will have a great time. if you look arroung the forum you will see there is a lot more to ibiza than the clubs.

yes, you'll be fine. there is a good mixture of single's and couples there. Don't worry.

don't worry about 'them', 'they' won't bother you if you don't want 'them' to.

in my opinion you'd be really unlucky if you got any abuse from anyone, but if you did i'd imagine it would be from someone who's had too much alcohol rather than one of 'them' pillheads

stay away from san an - loads of pushy dealers (not as much as 3-4years ago thou and they tend to target young group of lads) and drunkards

strongly suggest san an for the sunset...and then get the hell out of there! mambo (along 'sunset strip')is a must- pete tongs essential selection is live fridays, roger sanchez mondays, erick morillo weds...if your up for that

you can always check out the bus timetables - will save you loads in taxi fare as ibiza has an EXCELLENT bus service (prob wont impress your lady much) went last year and saved loads! (compared when i first went in 2001). Remember if you do go to a club, expect to pay around £6-£8 per alcoholic drink (soft drinks as well) adn anywhere between £15-£40 to get into the clubs (such as pacaha,space,amensia, etc..)

playa den bossa is a clubby place but still more family/couple orientated than smelly san an. It is home to a lot of German tourists. wheras san an is home to the british

sorry steve, i respect your opinion but totally disagree with you. if these people don't go and explore the many good bars, restaurants etc that San Antonio offers on the strength of your comment about drug dealers i think it would be a shame.

this year will be the second year i heve been with my girlfriend and its just been ud=s as a couple. She loves it as much as me and i really like being there as a couple.

Last year i was there for two weeks and i never got offred drugs once when i was with my girlfriend (except viagra from the lucky lucky men!!!)

The "pillheads" wont bother you at all. if you are only going to bars you shouldnt even see any of us

i promise you will have a quality time and there is no reason to worry at all. just have fun and write a review when you get back. will be a good read to see what people do when they not there for the clubs

I was there for 3 weeks with my girlfriend. We had the best time ever. There`s a lot of things to do/see on the island beside clubbing. Its realy a beateful and romantic place. Just read the forum for tips.
We were out on clubs and bars in Ibiza and san an. almost every night.We only met nice people and got a lot of new friends.
So nothing to worry about. Have a great vacation

just avoid the two streets called the west end!

I like San An, well certain aspects of it - which I guess people have with most places. Do not be put off visiting by those who don't find it their cup of tea You and your gf may love the west end, it all just depends on what you are looking for.

As you have said you are looking for sun, bars and restaurants I'm sure that will find more than enough information on the website and the forums on how to spend your week. There are various beaches you can look at visiting and maybe a day trip to Formentera...amongst other things

here here wetsend is a must to visit if only to form your own opinion on the place you will either love it or hate it but theres some good cheap bars and muchos fun to be had !! and music catering for all tastes from rock - reggae!!

I've always went to Ibiza with my G/F.

Visit La Marina restaurant opposite the ferry landing in Ibiza Town - i bet you'll love it.

Also just take plenty time to wander around Ibiza town on an evening / early morning bar hopping - that is a must.

Playa den bossa has a good beach - try Bora Bora which is open til midnight.

San Ann's West End is rough and not a comfortable place if you're jsut with your lady, and that's in my recent experience.

But you can get a taxi to Cafe del Mar in San An and Cafe Mambo is next door. That's a must if you've never been before.

But once you've done that I suggest you try Khumaras for an alternative ( and better IMO) sunset bar which is in Cala de Bou across the bay from Cafe del Mar.

But get a taxi there - don't try and find it yourself.

I've been a fair few places with my gf and Ibiza is by the far the most relaxed and hassle free.
