The public television of the Balearic islands covered the second day of the festival. Here's their report...

I didn't have time to see the bands that played at Caló de S'Oli around midday / early afternoon so I missed the likes of Arco, Bauer and Casino Montreal, which I fancied catching live. I got to see all the bands that played from mid afternoon at Venice Bay though. These were my favourites...

* Pol 3.14 - the madrileño Joaquín Polvorinos finally returned to the island after his shows at El Sitio (2013 and 2014) and El Reencuentro (2015).
* Los Invaders - of the bands I didn't know, the Valencia combo were the biggest surprise (Kitai and Anabel Lee were good too). Kasabian, The Prodigy, Primal Scream and much more mixed in an explosive cocktail... so much fun!
* Despistaos - celebrating their 20th anniversary, they proved to the unbelieving that they're more than just "Física o química".
* Iván Ferreiro - him on the keyboards, his brother Amaro on the guitar... and all the crowd doing backing vocals. Exceptional as everytime we had the chance to see him around here. There was time to revisit his past with Los Piratas during what probably was the most emotional show of the festival.
* Arde Bogotá - third time on the island and the ones that attracted more people. They're probably the biggest Spanish band right now. Friday was actually sold out, no wonder as the line-up was really good.
* Mikel Erentxun - the changes in his flight meant the organization had to rescheulde the whole timetable and he was the last one to play on friday. The ex-Duncan Dhu singer has a big following on the island, where he played plenty of times with his old band and solo. Accompanied by the voice and guitar of Marina Iniesta, not only he presented his recently released new double album but also classics such as "Cien gaviotas" or "Jardín de rosas".
* Yesterdays Yeahs - I think it was their live debut. Originally from Chile but relocated to Ibiza, where they added new members including Inés and Abel from punk rockers Seisdientes.
* Depedro - Jairo Zavala has many fans on the island, where he has played a few times. Armed with a guitar and his superb voice, he was probably the highlight of the festival for me... goosebumps remembering when he played the Mexican classic "Llorona"!
* Shinova - their third visit to the island included a curious moment: in the middle of the show they called a girl from the audience who was welcomed on stage by his boyfriend with a birthday cake... and who later went down on his knees and asked her to marry him!

Apart from the exceptional live music, the festival also featured an interesting activities program including book launches by Pau Roca (Un día en la vida) and Jorge Martí (Canción de amor definitiva), both members of La Habitación Roja, who did a not-so-secret acoustic show afterwards.

Such a privilege that one of the most important festivals in mainland Spain, which this year celebrated its 26th edition, chose our little island to have a spin-off... let's hope it continues for many years!
