Shoreditch (Tw*ts)

Hello

So basically have been flat hunting with a pal for a while now and mainly looking at Shoreditch & Ldn Bridge.

Found an amazing place in Shoreditch which has been accpeted and although I go out their now and again wouldnt say im 100% in the know about the whole scene their i.e. namely the phenomenon known as the Shoreditch Tw*t.

So basically those in the know, will I be driven out of clubs and bars because I dont have a mullet? , does the area retain much of the edge/artyness that gave it such a buzzing rep in the 1st place etc

Seems like there are so many good nights in terms of the music im into that take place in and around that area that it seems perfect, but at the same time a little worried about being a little late to the party by a few yrs and that the whole Hoxton vibe might be getting a little jaded? Hopefully Im worng
 
There's a fair few twats about, but then there are all round London. I wouldn't get in a stress about getting turned away from places, it'd probably be because they were full....

It's less wall to wall twats than it was a year or two back.

You'll be fine.
 
Naah it's great - you just have to know where to go.

If you frequent places in Hoxton Sq on a Friday night then you'll find the place is awash with loads of jumped up tw*ts wearing bowler hats at jaunty angles etc...basically like the ones you describe.
I was in Zigfrid last Friday and it was almost like leicester sq with silly clothes and lots of attitude.
(still better than soho tho ;) :p)

But please don't let this put you off - the 'Shoreditch tw*t' slogan comes from a freebie mag that was given out in about 96 so it's not a new phenomenon.

Shoreditch still rocks - Bethnal Green/Shoreditch has a higher concentration of artists living in it than anywhere else in Europe. Sundays in Shoreditch rock (esp the old blue last/George & Dragon/Trailer Trash)! I've never found a place to be so accessible and friendly than this - it's like a house party type affair with friends - and there's a complete absense of Burton styleey clothes and men in clubs wearing suits :roll:.

I've also had enough od minimal now...and thankfully the above no longer play it. Phew.

Oh and buy buy buy because housing prices will rocket over the next few years! :D
 
Is Shoreditch/Hoxton still "cool"???? :lol:

When Hen/stag parties go there surely it has past it's prime 8O

how do you know this?? i know nothing about art but isn't that what parisians would say about montmartre or the milanese about brera or new yorkers about greenwich village or soho or more increasingly nowadays tribeca.

didn't get up to much really, kids don't recognise bank holidays, weekends or days when you can't be a-holed getting up at 6am.

regardless, the festive period was all about the kids, as it should be.:D

what did santa get you? i got a planet earth book, its cool!8) :D

I think I might have one brewing now actually Rob after the Christmas excesses.

One too many mince pies or I'm up the duff - not sure which. Might take a trip to boots on the way home. 8O
