Girlfriends car went in for new gearbox and came out with new gearbox, clutch and starter motor
Then i ordered a new wheel bearing for my car (what are they like £5?) but said it was all one unit with the hub - total cost £126.00 +VAT for the part alone.
It's all a conspiracy i tell thee.

Sounds like a rip off with the gear box mate!
I know the mechanics well. The reason for the new clutch was because the refurb gearbox was slightly different to the original and connections were all different. Starter motor went down as 'apparently' often happens when distburbed doing other work - or maybe because she does a lot of motorway driving and where it's located suffers lots of damage from stones etc.
