San Antonio or Ibiza Town? please help!

I am an Ibiza virgin, and need some advice on where to stay during my first trip there!
Ill be in Ibiza in the middle of September. I've heard/read good things about both Ibiza Town and San Antonio, but cannot decide between the two. My friends and I want to be where the nightlife is, and Ive read that both places have their fair share of clubs, bars, etc.
Any advice? Please share as much as you can!

Ibiza town has nicer hotels
San An in definitely cheaper and has the sunset at your doorstep

Its all a matter of personal preference
I have friends who will only stay in San An...they love watching the sun from their balcony and its proximity to Mambos
But youre a good car ride away from pacha, el divino and the town...
Im staying near Pacha in Talamanca...a bit more Expensive than I wanted to spend...but the hotel is nice and worth it with a quiet place to rest/relax when I need to get a lil bit of shut eye ... :)
 
Ibiza town is definitely more upmarket but both have their own different qualities.
it's Playa den Bossa for me this year a couple of kms from Ibiza town which is more central for the big clubs but its easy and cheap enough to get around the island anyway.
San An is generally a little cheaper and the bay area is beautiful - stayed there last year and you have mambo, cafe del mar and savannahs a stones throw away. The only drawback about San An for me is the West End but you don't have to go there I suppose.
It's all beautiful and if its your first time I wouldn't worry too much - you wont be disappointed :)
