I always had time for Joy O - he was one of the dubstep refugees who got more interesting when he started mixing it all up - I like his use of cut up vocals and nods to dark oldschool basslines. there was one pretty lawless party he did in shoreditch at some warehouse or gallery or something maybe just behind curtain road? it had a room upstairs which was all ultraviolet pink light - about as much as I remember!

Yeah he's great, never seen him play a bad set and production wise he is always right up there. I think there is always a lot of feeling in his music whether he's playing an old house tune or an old garage tune or something he has produced. Saw him once at a mulletover party that sounds similar to the one you describe..going back a good 10 years!

Is it cheating to add your top tracks as a Spotify playlist made by you not spotify? Instead of you tube/other links?? And does it have to be just 10? I'll play by the rules.

I wonder if this might be my favourite track of the year. My favourite track of the year often turns out to be a girly summery pop/dance tune.

Some I’ve been diggin’ this year

The Town Cryomen
Chewed Slipper
Back Entrance Ban
Mr Meanor
Kissing a Horse
