Questions for ibiza residents.

Ive been going to ibiza for some years now and love the place. With redundancy looming, i am very tempted to take the plunge and just go.

I would love to hear from any residents, how you managed to get there, what you do, and any reccomendations. I spoke to a few people when i was on the island in July and they didnt have a bad word to say about living in Ibiza. I would love to hear your stories.

We've been here since July and I don't have a bad word to say about it either - except maybe the Spanish driving! It is definitely the best thing that we have ever done and if you gave me ten million quid I wouldn't live back in the UK now, I'd rather be a poor man here than a rich one there!

We sold our place in London for a tidy profit and came across here with the intention of using that money to buy a business, fortunately my wife still does part time work in the UK via the internet. It is very cheap here to rent and live here compared to the UK and although going out can be exepensive it can be very cheap too.

In hindsight it would have been difficult to have survived this far without my wife's job which although not that well paid covers all our living expenses except the rent. The majority of work here is in the hospitality trade and is notoriously poorly paid and of course seasonal. The other thing is that we had to rent a flat for a year and had to pay the full years rent in advance so we made a large financial comittment upfront.

I'd say that if you can manage to live here then do it, the island is a wonderfully diverse place and there is so much more to it than the clubbing, In fact you could live here all your life and be totally unaware that there was a club culture.

Good luck.
