at the bottom of the swimmingpool !

if the privilege-owners have the right to bear the name K U
they should rename it

Hawaiian God Ku,

In Hawaii, the Heiau and surrounding areas are sacred places, religious sites, places of worship, sanctaury and refuge, often dedicated to one of the Hawaiian Gods, such as Ku, Lono or Kanaloa.
Carved wooden images of the gods in the form of Tikis often stood in front of the Heaiau, some as guardians and protectors of the sacred spot.
A wonderful example that can be still be seen today are the famous Tikis of Kane and Wahine at the Hale O Keawe Heiau Puuhonua on the Big Island of Hawai'i.

Ku is the God of Protection and Longevity, and of Forests, Wild Places and Crops, certain Crafts and is the Ruler of the ancient people.
In his most well-known form, Kuka-'ili-moko, he is the God of Conflict and War and in this form, was the personal God of the great King Kamehameha I.

Ku represents the East, and the Rising Sun, and the morning hours belong to him. In some forms, he is associated with sorcery and is also often invoked when healing herbs are gathered.

Ku provides strength, drive and determination, inspires motivation and greatness, confers positive energy and frees an individual from his or her faults and errors.

Legendary club; legendary parties...

I think that for a period of time in the 80's it was the best club on the island...

Times change, its more than just a name. the whole place has been transformed so calling it KU wouldn't be right anymore. Freddie Mercury? Bloody rockers getting in on the act.

can anybody give me / us an excursion about the past of ku?

i mean which acts played which music as it was ku, which shows they had,
how freaky the crowed was, how long the nights going?

thanks!

When Manumission first started in 1994 (I think) I am sure it still had Ku on the flyers?

Ku, agree a fantastic name. I still tend to call it Ku.

There was a club in Edinburgh years ago run by the guys from the Finitribe called Coup (as in a military coup) Always thought that was kinda cool.

I once danced beside a dwarf shagging a big six foot blonde at the back of Ku beside the window. They were failry going at it.

Also walked passed to gorgeous girls walking hand in hand completetly naked like they were strolling a long the street. I caught this guys eye and we both just looked at them with saliva dripping from our mouths.

Also saw a couple shagging in a hammock, two guys playing badminton, a guy carrying a BMX bike through the middle of the dancfloor, two girls sitting on the floor colouring books. If I could remember half the **** I have seen I could write a book. Studio 54 was nothing compared to the early days of Manumission.

Anyone remember the guy in a case a few years back?

I know people who visited it too in the 80's. In fact my partner was there. It was a world apart, they say. A special place for special people. A wide music policy from alternative pop-rock to disco. Gorgeous people, but not as pretentious and vain as today.

Wish I get that atmosphere somewhere nowadays.
