Photography in clubs

I'll be taking my digital camera to Ibiza this summer, and just wondered if anyone knew of any sites, or has any advice about using digital cameras in clubs, to take pics of the crowd and lights, rather than close up group shots? I've taken it out back home a few times and sometimes I get good pics, but sometimes just a blur, probably because I'm using the auto set up function. Any advice on how to set it up manaully would be great. I've got a Sony Cybershot P10.
Cheers.

do a search on this topic as most clubs arent keen on cameras or do as i do and only go to day time clubs 8) ( try reading the manual)

heres an easy way to get good fotos from your camera

set it to twilight ( assuming you are in a dark club) , force the flash(fill in) on ... if you can adjust the shutter speed , make it to 1/2 a second or longer ... i always use 2 seconds
this will give you a saturated look to your fotos which always gives good results i find

the bleached out 'flashed out' look is what you're trying to avoid

here are some examples if you do this

Cheers gadget, that's the advice I was after! What about taking pics of everyone on the dancefloor, capturing laser beams etc?

what i have said above will cover laser beams and so on but catching them is nigh on impossible... but not impossible ... practice makes perfect ... mess around wih the settings.

to catch one properly , you need a fast iso setting ..... which makes the foto grainy on digital ...... so that means use a lower iso setting ... which means longer shutter time ... therefore more blurry . its all a play off in such low light conditions..

you also need to keep the foto as still as possible when taking these fotos

as most clubs don't let you take tripods into clubs , i use a balcony or ledge overlooking the dancefloor ... also when you go to click the shutter , that will cause a blurring ... i find using the self timer.. activating it and THEN putting it onto the ledge/balcony will give the most stable results
