I second that.

Does anyone think that this Urban/house cross over we are seeing at the moment is a good thing?

bloody heck, stick them in the back room.... do not want an hour of r& fu*king b.

I'm honestly think ill not be the only one missing all these events :?

Look guys, as our esteemed Prime Minister Tony Blair might say, we've all got to get along here. Big Tent music politics, right? There's room for RnB. Some of its best producers, such as Timbaland and the Neptunes, are totally unaverse to putting house and techno-style samples in their tunes. And records like Crazy in Love are right up there, no two ways about it. There weren't many tunes last year that had a more crunching drum sound, whatever the genre or the BPMs. Ibiza's strength, it seems to me, has been its ability to blend all sorts of different musics into the Balearic sound. Surely RnB, which includes some of the music closest to the cutting edge in addition to all the rubbish you hear on Kiss, can be a part(y) of the family? Rather RnB than 99% of trance, I say.

Couldn't have put it better myself :D ;)

The way some people go on about hip-hop/rnb in Ibiza (and like you say by hip-hop/rnb we're talking the likes of Timbaland, Missy etc as opposed to what gets played on mainstream radio  ) you'd think we were talking bout 2 completely different musical genres...........hip-hop and house have overlapped for years - house DJs mix hip-hop tracks and play hip-hop tracks and have been doing for years and hip-hop DJs/producers have always crossed over into the 'house' tent.

It's all good :D ;)

Sat 19th is a kind of obligatory visit to Pacha's.... :? So I'm kind of wondering what it would be like. Isn't David Morales playing as well?

global room:

· monday - funk fiasco!

· tuesday - rhythm nation with trevor nelson

· wednesday - fiasco!

· thursday - 13 pañuelos with mucho muchacho
(plus other spanish hip-hop artists like mala rodriguez, jota mayuscula, solo los solo, etc)

· friday - the soul

· saturday - jugula with neneh cherry

which means 6 nights / 42 hours of RnB/HipHop/Funk per week at pacha. after the success of all of them dont be surprised if next season they have a whole night of urban music - like el divino this summer on wednesdays..........
