OffSonar and OffWeek Barcelona

Hi all,

I am thinking of going to Barcelona for OffSonar this year, it will be the first time for me.
Can anyone give me some information/reviews? In particular, I've seen there will be events both at Poble Espanyol (Off Sonar) and at Parc del Forum (Off Week). I am mostly interested in the Kalkbrenner date (Friday 17th june) and Dynamic Outdoor (Saturday 18th June).
What are the normal timings? Are these events any good?

Any input will be appreciated! Thanks in advance!
 
We went for the first time to Off Week at Parc del Forum in 2019 (Afterlife and Diynamic / Friday and Saturday) and enjoyed it enough to book again for 2020 now delayed until this summer. This year we are currently going to Diynamic Outdoor and then Innervisions on the Sunday at Poble Espanyol.

It was our first visit to Barcelona so difficult to give full comparisons but the set up at Parc del Forum was decent and the crowd was good. The only thing I would say is that Parc del Forum seems a very long way from Poble Espanyol so tricky to work out where best to stay. Last time we stayed close to Glories / Agbar Tower as easier to access Parc del Forum but this year we will stay close to the other venue as only one trip down to Parc del Forum.

Was a little bit disappointed with the revised line up this year from previously announced as Diynamic event has lost Keinemusik and Lehar/Musumeci and Magdalena 😟

thanks!! at what time do the headliner played? Just want to understand if it's an "evening thing" (like 8-12 pm) or night thing (after midnight)

Ok so in 2019 the Diynamic event was something like 5pm-3am and there are two stages … Solomun played like 3 hours so from midnight and Adriatique played 10pm-12 midnight … we then went to an after party where Solomun played b2b with Adriatique until 7am …. But this year I think the event finishes at 5am (starting at 5pm) so I would expect Solomun to play from 2am-5am probably Sven Vath headlining the other stage from maybe 1am-3am … so more of a night time thing … at Poble Espanyol I think they are more daytime events from 4pm-1am
 
I can't comment on any of these events because none of them appeal to me. I tend to support the local heroes. But I do know Forum quite well and I would suggest caution if you're headed there in the day time. It's mostly concrete and there's not much shelter from the blazing sun. Poble Espanyol is much nicer imo. La Terrazza is decent although sound is more limited than at Forum.
 
The sound of Placa Mayor also was very limited in the years before Corona (but much better than Terrazzza). I loved the Monasterio floor - the bigger events (Innervisions etc.) also used this one in the past.

El monasterio was brilliant in 2014. Dixon did a secret-ish boiler room set in the inner cloisters Soooo good

Hi ,
During sonar you have party everywhere but as you said the 2 major venue are Poble Espanyol ( 3 to 5 differents party everyday ) it close at midnight but in Poble Espanyol you have 2 club ( la terraza and imput ) that goes till 6 am and el forum ( 1 party a day ) the proper event goes till 3-4 am . Those 2 venue are not close from each other , it doesn’t really matter where you want a stay but leaving a venue to go to the other one on the same day will take you sometimes
 
You can get the yellow metro L4 from forum to urquinaona and then change to L1 to Espanya but it's a pain in the arse. 35 mins maybe. Just get a cab.

Done it many times 😅 35 -45 min easy + 15-20 min from plaça España walking up the hill to Poble español … and getting a cab is almost impossible from the forum during sonar .
 
Been to sonar a few times over the past 14 years...! Last time 2018 and only hit the parties around town rather than the festival itself. Would really recommend El Poble Espanol as a venue but be prepared to walk back into the city at the end of the night (maybe 30 mins depending how hard you've hit it?! Can't remember...)

Also check out the beach bars in the day as you can get some great parties unannounced.

I've been to the fesitval at Fira and it's a great venue too.

Hopefully going back this year!

Not sure what's going on with the brand Diynamic, but the postponed Diynamic festival that was planned here in Ams in June has just rebranded to 'Nobody is not Loved' Festival and the line up has lost good names too.

we were there at PE on Friday night. easier to just get a cab, although the walk back down to Espanya is a nice one when it's warm.

the off-sonar stuff is way better/cheaper. sonar itself went commercial years ago. nobody I know bothers with that shite anymore.
 
Hi guys, heading to off week for the first time with my girlfriend I met on this forum in ibiza back in 2019 :) Staying opposite the parc de forum and going to Afterlife Friday, Diynamic Saturday. If anyone has any tips for the weekend or any Info on picking up etc would be amazing for the help.

We would be happy to link up, socialise with anyone looking to at the events also.
